Well done. You are doing so well and should give yourself a pat on the back! I think often people are jealous when others start doing well for themselves and I am sorry that your parents have not been more supportive. I think you are right to remember that you are doing this for yourself. Keep going and long may it continue.Thank you.
Yes mate that’s what I’m doing.
The thing is though I’m not a designer really, my 2 welly prints are made from clipart that I paid for and I just put all the pieces together. The other print is just text is a fancy font. The football one I did make from scratch, even if I did 100% copy someone else’s haha.
I’m paying someone $300 at the minute to redesign my welly print so that it is unique and only I have the rights to the images. It really bugs me that even though the print I’m currently selling is doing amazing, it bugs me that lots of other people are using the same wellies to make prints.
Got a few ideas for more prints that I will design myself but it’s not advanced stuff.
I sold a print today for £10 and it was literally just “this is our happy place” in a fancy font and then each family member’s name written underneath in a standard font and then a plain back love heart underneath. So if anyone is reading this thinking you can’t do it then you really can. Lots of people are selling prints that just have text on them.
Yesterday’s sales were £372 and today’s are £292 so far. It’s actually ridiculous! I’ve got just over 100 pictures I need to do and to be fair I am working from like 10am till 9-10pm most days. But I’m lucky to be working at home, at least I’m not working at the bingo where I was for 10 years until recently which I absolutely hated. I feel like nobody really in my life is genuinely happy for me. My parents won’t even say well done or anything, but I’m used to it now. I’m doing it for me.
Yeah I would double down and say my parents have never really 'got' hot I make money online and even when I quit my job to do this full time it was made with shock and horror!!Well done. I tell you what's a natural pivot from that and has a HUGE audience that would just buy stuff off you without thinking

Disney stuff
Disney Parks
Disney Characters
etc.
Agree. If you use images or clips on YouTube, you will often, even if the rest of content is your own, get the video taken down or the money from ads is given to the company that own the clips. Some don't mind as it drives new users/listeners/viewers/buyers to them and they see it as free marketing but others are much less generous.Just be careful with copyrights and trademarks.
Don't know what Etsy is like but with Amazon, they will approve things that break copyright but then the actual company e.g. Disney will email saying that you have broken copyright and will claim all of the income you've made from their images. They can also take you to court.
Looks good!
I'm going to see how this goes first, not very good at handling too many things at once.Think I've asked before, but @rich110991 and @robchoc, have you considered selling designs as printables?
I've recently started on Redbubble and am considering this angle.
Did you have to set yourself up as a business or do £ just go to your personal account?

I’m already set up for self assessment so that’s not a problem but just wondered if you just needed to give yourself a business name on Etsy and that was it!
Great, I'm set up as a sole trader too anyway so guess I'm sorted then!I’m just a sole trader with a shop on Etsy. I haven’t registered as a business.
Another good week for sales??
There’s a HUGE movement on social media at the moment to buy from and support local businesses on Etsy and the like and I think that could be bringing you a lot of traffic![]()
jesus, are you looking at bringing in £50k+ a year from this now then?£1,760 in sales from the last 7 days. I’m so stressed but got to keep going.
Wow! This is amazing but I can also see how it's very stressful too. Just take a deep breath, keep hydrated, eat regularly and keep going. And remember that you are doing a grand job and this is for your future.£1,760 in sales from the last 7 days. I’m so stressed but got to keep going.
Could you hire some freelancers to help?Thank you both.
Jon I’m not sure. In August when I first opened it was £800+ in sales, then September was £1000+, October was £2,000+, now nearly £6000 this month.
I’ve extended the delivery time to 6-10 business days. So if they order today then the latest arrival date is 15th Dec. So I’m hoping the madness stops next week because it’s too much. I know it’s a good thing but it’s too much.
