I have decided to make a diary on here to track my money making progress.

A little bit of information about myself I am in my late 20's unemployed still living with my parents and at the start of this week(Monday 19th October 2020) I had £20 in my bank account and if I want anything I have to ask my parents to buy the items. I can't get unemployment benefits(As I have been told that as I live with my parents I could use my parents money). I want to be able to have my own money so that I don't have to feel guilt for asking my parents for stuff that I need.

I am going to post an update at the end of the week(Sunday) with how much I have earned(what I mean is that it is in my bank account).

At the end of the month I will do a monthly update.

My goal at the moment is to earn £1,000 but of course I know that over time I can up the goal.

Here is a list of what I have sign up and is using:

  • Swagbucks
  • iRazoo
  • Paidviewpoint
  • Toluna Influencers
  • YourSayPay
  • Prolific
  • Earnably
  • InstaGC
  • Mindmover
  • Marketagent
  • TGM Panel
  • Univox
  • OhMyDosh
  • Branded
  • Honeygain
  • Qmee
  • Surveyeah
  • Superpay
  • Featurepoints
  • YouGov
  • Opinion Outpost
  • Panelbase
  • Viewbank
  • Timebuck
  • CheckoutSmart
I want to sign up for higher earners sites but I have not yet. At the moment I am not up to doing match betting.

I will update with my weekly earnings on Sunday.

Good luck Sarah! What about JSA? I don't think it is means tested (for 6 months?) so as long as you are available for work, the fact you live with your parents shouldn't hinder you.

@Mattam I was on JSA years ago and I was doing everything I was told to do I was told my benefits were being stopped. I carried on looking for work but I got nothing and even when universal credit came about I tried to apply for it but nothing and so I want to do online earning so I have some money for myself.

Yes you certainly had a good start and week. I am waiting for my first survey on Prolific.

Panelbase is a good one to start with. It was a good earner for me for a few weeks, now it's frozen at £2.

I am interested to see how newer members are getting on.

Good luck.

I signed up to Panelbase and was doing really well. I noticed that I completed tasks/surveys and did not have the reward updated. It is currently sitting at £7.50 and has not budged. Have you found this?

So it has been a while since I was last on here. For December I will go back to Weekly Updates but as we have just ended another month I will put my monthly total.

So as I put in a early post for October I made £55.61.

For November I have been busy with helping look after my nan and being stuck at home with nothing to do while the whole of the downstairs of the house I share with my parents and younger brother being rewired so I haven't been able to get much online work done but I still happy with what I have earned as my bank account is slowly getting more money in. In November I signed up to IntelliZoom Panel.

£5.00
IntelliZoom Panel
£2.21

Sign up to Utest. You just sign up and start small doing the test cycles and finding bugs. There's no reason why, if you put the work in, that you can't earn hundreds to thousands of pounds. I've done pretty well on it with no previous experience (you take tests on the Academy to learn what to do to start with) and I 'know' several testers on there with no prior experience who are now among their top testers. You learn a lot, there's never an issue with payment (paydays are twice a month straight into PayPal). It's not for everyone but it'll cost you nothing but time to have a go. At least a couple of hundred a month+ is completely doable as you progress.

It's a bit stressy at first as things seem to go fast when a cycle kicks off, so what I did when I accepted my first couple of cycles was really watch what was going on, what bugs got reported, kept an eye on chat etc. Then you just take the plunge and realise that your bugs are likely to be as good as anyone's.

The other thing while you're waiting for your first invitation is to take a look through the Community section at articles and the forum - you see some real inspiration there from people who've joined with no knowledge and are now stars. I won't be seeing 50 again so if I can do it, well... (and make sure your profile is up to date and gleaming).

A lot of people, as they start to earn, buy more devices to test on, which leads to more invitations etc. There's plenty of desktop testing but you'll need at least two phones or tablets (1 of each will do to start) because sometimes you can't record what's going on on the phone/tablet because of security and copyright so you have to use your camera on the other to film it.

Test cases on the cycles go very quickly so you have to learn to speed-read the overview to see if you have the right device/OS/country to grab one.

Anyway, I've bored on enough for now...

Excellent tips, thank you Jute. I really appreciate you taking time to give advice.
I will plough through couple more modules on uTest tonight and will check out community Section.

Appologies Forest91 for barging in onto your diary, again good luck with your online work in 2021.

Hi,

Living with your parents shouldn't get in the way of you claiming Universal Credit. You are classed as being a different 'benefit unit' as your parents, so you can claim in your own right.

There is a service called 'Help to Claim' which is run by Citizens Advice, which can help you work out whether you'll be able to get Universal Credit and guide you through the process. I'd strongly suggest that you give them a call - details are here:

Contact us about applying for Universal Credit - Citizens Advice

This isn't meant to discourage you from exploring earning opportunities - Universal Credit would taper off as you start earning more, and you'll almost certainly be better off for earning through a job or through your own endeavours.

Good luck in whatever you do :)
