Scroll Wheels - a cautionary tale

I thought I'd share this with other MBers and specifically with those just starting.

Like many people I have a scroll wheel on my mouse. This is usually really helpful for moving down the page without having to hold the cursor on the down arrow.

The less useful side effect is that some sites will assume (quite rightly) that your last focus (place you clicked) is the area you want to scroll through. When placing a bet on a site that usually is the stake box and then you scroll down to click the place bet button (depending on resolution). Here's the gotcha. Sometimes that will reduce your stake and when you click the place bet....you're actually placing a lower bet than you intend.

Well that happened to me during placing a sign up offer qual bet. When I realised the mistake I immediately corrected it by placing the remaining balance on a bet that was the same game and odds (less than a minute apart).

The company has responded stating that partial bets don't count (technically true but it's an obtuse view). So I have a choice of placing another qual bet to release the free bet or walking away and chalking it down to experience....ill probably do the former to play the long term profit game. Fortunately it's a smaller player so it doesn't matter too much what happens to the account.

Anyway...thought I'd share

On a slightly similar note. When using a mobile or tablet & playing slots. If you have received free spins, once you have completed the spins be careful if you are on a slot where it automatically does a further spin when you drag your finger down the screen.
