So the other week I offered up our garage on justpark.com

We live VERY close to Leeds Airport and I figured there would be demand. 1 Week later and I have my first customer for a month.

I have priced the parking at £59 a month and I will receive £47 a month from Just Park when they take their fees.

Anyone done anything like this before or am I the only one dipping their toe into the water so to speak?

I think it's a great idea if you've got offroad/dedicated parking, live close to something useful and don't use the space.

There's a fair deal of trust from the users, but less than with something like couch surfing or airbnb which both seem to working well, so I can see something like this really working. From a sellers point of view the risks are quite low - non payment (but you're not losing money then) and abandonment of vehicle - make sure the T&C's are clear when you can have an abandoned car towed

Do you take them to the airport?

We were going to do that last year. Flying from Birmingham and it was going to cost £42 for 9 days parking. Several people were cheaper than this, and some even offered to drop off at the airport. In the end we found a deal so went with that instead.

But I'd use it, for sure.

I have a friend who's parents rent out their driveway, I think to people who work in London. They live right next to a train station with a high speed link to London. They even rented out spare rooms during the Olympics for some crazy amount.

Unfortunately we don't have a driveway or garage as it would be a good little earner.

I'd definitely recommend this. Especially in London!! I would rent out my drive if I could, sadly I don't have one, which is the bane of my life for my own car. I rented one for £15 for the day near to Wembley - official Wembley car park costs £30, some of them have space for 4 cars! Imagine several Saturday evenings with 4 cars... nice earner. I think if you aren't near train stations, airports or other landmarks you wouldn't get a lot of custom. If you are - find somewhere else for your car for that day and rent it out!
