Hello all,

I've just read this and wondered if someone could please explain to me some very basic points. It's the betting language that i'm struggling with.

Mug bet a bad price!

1) What is a bad price?
2) What is a value price?
3) Could someone please provide me with a clearer example of the above?

1) What does 'good value mean to a punter mean'?

Many thanks in advance and i do apologise....i know these are very basic questions its just i'm new to the world of MB and so the language is abit hard for me.

I've just had to edit your post @starry_eyes84 as you've Copy and pasted content from behind the paywall on Profit Accumulator and you can't share that content publicly.

1- A bad price for a punter would be lower odds. So if I can get Manchester United to beat Chelsea for 3.0 when everywhere else is offering it at 4.0 then 3.0 is a bad price

2 - A value price is generally one which hasn't got a close match or as closer match as we would look for normally when doing MBing

Thanks so much so to confirm:

Bad price = lower odds
Good price = higher odds
Good value = close match
Bad value = not so close match

Another day and another question...

Thinking about why it's important to give the bookies value in order to keep your accounts health my question is:

As a normal punter placing a bet on a Saturday - How would the punter always know which bets were high value for them ? Would they only know what the high value bets were by using software such as 'odds matcher' on PA ?

Many thanks.

Yup you would typically only know about high value bets by having access to software like oddsmatching which shows how close bookies are to exchange odds

Many thanks Jon. I'm just waiting for my new bank card to arrive as I've set up a new account as advised. In the mean time I'm using my time to get to grips. Hopefully I can restart the journey Saturday. Oh my mystery shopping is going well ! I've completed lots of tasks and really enjoying it.

Hi Jon,
I wondered if you could help me. I'm doing the ladbrokes offer. I want my qualifying bet to be on the Royal Ascot. However no horses are coming up on the oddsmatcher. Why is this ? Many thanks

I'm out and about at the moment so can't check but have you got a filter on?

Press clear all filters or whatever the option is on oddsmatching

Or use Match catcher and select Ladbrokes as the bookie

Thanks for the reply as you're out. I've tried both options and Ladbrokes isn't showing up for horses. Who knows why. All filters are cleared. How frustrating.

I asked on the forum in the end. Apparently PA were having issues with Ladbrokes odds. Think is I've still got my £50 deposit with them and now unsure what to bet. Would it look odd if I kept my deposit in there until Tuesday and use it on the u21 England game ?

Hello, I want to place some QL and free bets on the England Euro tomorrow. Thing is I'll be at work following 17.00 kick off. Is it okay to place the bets in the morning before work ? Say 8.30am ?

Unless the offer instructions say you differently you can place them whenever you want as long as they are placed before the event takes place
