I'm not a 'youngster' and have done dating the old fashioned and scary way.
1, Go out of your way to meet new people.
2, Make new friends.
3, Invest in the friendships
4, turn a friendship into a relationship
As a fully paid up member of the grown-up club I'd say these these things.
a) You are a grown-up. If you don't want to speak to someone you don't have to.
b) It is better to have fewer friends than keep toxic friendships.
c) Don't mess with people's emotions, you'd not want yours messed with.
d) To Thine Own Self Be True.
