Thank you for the encouragement!
I haven't done too much over the last week, just watching the figures, which seem to have levelled out at just over $1000, which feels a good place to be. Interestingly the increase in income has come from an increase in views on old videos, not the new ones I've been loading. It takes 6 months plus for videos to trend it seems, and I've no idea which ones will do well and which ones won't, if only I could guess that magic formula.....!

I have joined instagram, which actually seems to get loads more engagement that facebook, but I can't figure out how it actually increases income, apart from if I include a link in the description people may click on that which takes them to youtube, I guess if you have millions of followers it works, I've now got 50, so a way to go yet! I think I'm too old for all this social media stuff. Or perhaps I should invest in some 1-1 coaching.

Now I have another website about to go live, this one is quite interesting, as it's sort of a drop shipping arrangement. The customer orders the item (mirror doors) pays for it and then the order should (we haven't written this bit and tested it yet!) go straight through to the factory to be made up and delivered, so completely and obsolutely automated. IF it works, I hope this is going to be my cash cow. Well I know the website will work, I just need to get enough traffic to it. I haven't built this one my self, the coding is too technical, so it's an investment in 4 figures, paid for by the youtube income, a bit nervous.....watch this space......

That's exciting, what products do you plan on selling on the drop shipping website?

I'm going to sell mirror doors! The website is nearly ready now, just waiting for the worldpay plug in and we're off, the next job is to drive some traffic to it, that's not very easy, well not targeted traffic anyway.

Youtube is storming at the moment, September looks to be over £900 and October, we maybe over £1000, lets see #excited. However I haven't made any new videos in the last couple of weeks, and I must keep the momentum going

I was a bit dissapointed that the Instagram thread on here went no-where, I've joined Instagram and am getting some really good engagement, loads better than facebook, only I'm not sure how to convert it to money really, any ideas?

Good day everyone (or anyone who reads this)
So September was a storming month with a payment of £924 - thanks Google :D
Uploading of videos has slowed some what, and the daily value is dropping ever so slightly, so I need to keep up the incentive.
The new website is now live for the mirror doors, and I've had 1 sale so far, however that was some-one I directed to the site and not search engine traffic. I've got some-one coming to see me next week about seo, as Google hasn't even listed is yet. Overall I'm really pleased with it, quietly optimistic.

The birthday candle video is going viral nicely now with 2.5 million views to date, and a revenue in the last year since it was uploaded of >$1000 - so wish I could get them all to go viral!!

This video below is a gorgeous example of the brilliant people I've found on fiverr.com. The picture is from Pixabay (great site for creative commons images), the music is by a DJ and his 8 year old son did the voice over, and the animation is by my favorite animator who never charges me enough so I have to send him big tips after!

What do I do? Well I just bring it all together really, the idea is mine and I have the platform, but I can't do any of the clever stuff. All the collaborators get credit and links back.

If you have any ideas, bring them on....!

I will leave you today with Master Penguin

You're doing fantastic! You should pop your latest videos in the 'what have you posted lately' thread. I'm always browsing there and I'll give it a thumbs up etc too which hopefully helps a little on new videos!

Thanks Jon, I've submitted it, so it's either not yet indexed or I did it wrong!
Thank you for the reminder about the scammy back links. That caught me out in 2012 when I paid for some back links, I got penilized and it nearly bankrupt me when my website dropped from page 1 to 10, it never recovered, and it's taken me 5 years to make a come back! My hat is now whiter than white!

If it's not indexed yet don't worry, it just takes time

Ah yeah I remember you story about that from before.

It's crazy the things you see people advertise on fiverr regarding SEO.

I may take a good 6-12 months for your site to be where you want it to but it's better in the long run doing it organically.

If you want to write a guest post for TMS blog and include a backlink to your site you are more than welcome to btw

OK so I decided to set my self a challenge for November, no I'm not growing a moustache. I'm going to attempt to load 1 video a day for the whole month...and measure the effect. So my estimated YT income for October is $1277.
I've uploaded my first one today and have a couple of others in the pipeline, I'm not going to post each one here too, only the highlights!
Todays is however dadaaaaaaa....

This video cost $25. $20 for the illustration and animation and $5 for the voice over

Total spent for November $25

Todays YT upload has been done nice and early, this is a video that I've borrowed from some-one on Fiverr. They let me have it for free, I just give them credit and a link back which hopefuly boosts their sales, I did it with a video they lent me before and they seemed happy enough to do it again!

So 2 down and 28 to go total spend for November still $25

Hi yes it is difficult to find good ones that are not too pricey. Generally I look for people who have just joined so they are cheaper and wanting to get established. Also look for people in countries where the average wage is really low, like the Philipines or Vietman. Students in these countries are a good bet. Also if I find someone good I will tip them for a job well done.
And haggle, they are usually willing to negotiate, but not to hard, they have a living to make!

Up and at it this morning, todays video is loaded. No spend on this one as the picture was from Pixabay, I love this site, if you need images look no further. I added the sparkles and turned it into a video in Glitterboo (£7 for a 1 year membership) , then added the text in with windows movie maker. So another freeish video. Being a Scorpio theme then it's only really going to get watched 1/12 of the year, it's a bit like doing Christmas videos, limited by time. But the plus side of the seasonal videos is that there tends to be a lot less of them so they are easier to rank higher for. Also it would have been useful to have loaded ealier and not half way through the zodiac month but heyho, it'll be there for next year!
I've also found a new keyword tool which gives me loads of long tailed keywords, perfect for the small niches I'm now working on. I haven't paid for the upgrade as it seems quite expensive. I like the fact that you can pull keywords for the different platforms such as youtube, google, bing, amazon, ebay etc
So here's todays, and if it's your birthday today/this week/this month - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Well, nearly at the end of my first week, I have videos scheduled for this afternoon and tomorrow. I can not believe that after 6 years of youtubing I've only just realised I can schedule posts DOH! I'm scheduling them to go live daily at 4pm as that seems to be when there are most viewers. I discovered my viewers by hour in the YT statistics (see below), very useful and very consistant and seems to peak at 4 - 6pm each day. This is 8am in pacific time, where most of my viewers are.
Rather than tell you what I paid for each video, as I thought this was a little unfair on the animators, I'll give you a running total on what I've spent on fiverr.com month to date which is £132 (in a week!!!) I've got a fair bit of content now, so will be working in converting that over the next couple of weeks. Nearly £50 of that was on a new song, which I'll use in lots of videos. I've got ideas placed up intil 17th November at the moment.

And here's Saturdays upload, free picture from Pixabay and photoanimation $5 on fiverr

not to teach you how to suck eggs but I'd be wanting my videos online a good couple of hours before they get the peak traffic. Is there a reason you don't want them online at the start of the uk day?

Do you know if people who watch your videos are doing so as they have subscribed and are notified of a new video or are they people searching for certain terms?
