I used my slow cooker a lot - we've got a Morphy Richards one. The recipe that seems to go down best with the family is sausage and bean casserole. (Kidney beans, butter beans, any other beans hanging around the house, a bit of wine (drink the rest), stock and sausages of course! Couple of quid and you're done for 4 people.

I should use mine more.

Great for stews - even cheap beef is edible after 6-8 hours of slow cooking. Perfect solution for busy parents.

In fact, I thought about doing a niche website about slow cookers / slow cooking - I'm too busy at the moment, but surely someone on here could build a little site to sell some slow cooking pots / recipe books?

it cooks the best ham ever, use olde english dry cider and a bayleaf, cook for a few hours on slow, when it looks cooked coat it in honey and wrap in foil and bake in oven for half hour or so. :)

I use mine all the time. They are great for making meals in bulk, and perfect for saving time as well. There is a beef meal in mine today

I've got a slow cooker languishing in the cupboard. Think I've only ever made a few things with it, and only in winter. Maybe I'll get it out soon and use it - I love gammon in brown sugar (sorry, don't know proper recipe name). I saw it on a slow cooker thread on Mumsnet the winter before last and it's amazing. Not tried it cooked in Coke though.

I made a Spag Bol in the slow cooker yesterday, but it was pretty bad.
The mince went too flakey and how do you get it to reduce and thicken?
You get 1/2 litre of orange water sloshing around the plate!

Slow cookers are amazing for making pulled pork.

Just shove a pork joint in with a mug full of cider (drink rest of bottle) and leave on low for around 12 hrs.

Drain the liquid into a pan, take pork out and remove the farm then use two forks to 'pull' it, and return it to the slow cooker.

With the cooking liquid, add, sugar, lemon/lime juice, balsamic vinegar, tomato purée, cumin and paprika. Then leave to reduce for a bit then once it thickens return it to the slow cooker to coat the meat.

Serve with, baked potatoes/wraps etc. corn on the cob, lots of guacamole. Yum!

I make an amazing fakeaway lamb kebab in ours. Lamb mince and some spices, blend together, make a ball and cook it on some tin foil balls to allow the fat to drain. The recipe is on weight watchers online. Ready in about 3 hours when cooked on high.

A-MAZ-ING!!

Dunno if I already posted this, but I don't care anyway lol, I stick a gammon joint in there for the day and it comes out absolutely bloody lovely. Usually I would add some sort of liquid to meat but I wrap gammon in foil and voila!!!!!
