So I paid up for HostPresto, bought my demain, downloaded WordPress and have been working on my page. However I can't seem to see my page apart from when I am logged into the WordPress. Do I have press a special button to make it all go live? Apologies for the super simple question, I know a fair bit about computers but not on this sort of thing, it's been years since I did anything with a website.
The website is www.adventuresinblackandwhite.co.uk for reference.

You haven’t installed Wordpress
log into your cPanel on hostpresto > softilicious > Wordpress and install

Follow this from “install Wordpress”

Ok I see what you’ve done

you have installed Wordpress into a folder called WP
(You can tell is you go to your domain you can see a folder called WP which if you click on shows your blog)

it needs to be in the root
“You can also choose if you want to install in a directory or not as well. This is a mistake people make by accident quite a lot in my experience as they can end up installing WordPress into a directory when they don’t mean to so as the page says to leave the In Directory section blank”

I was confused when I got to that bit I just typed what was on the blog post. How do I fix that, like exactly what do I write? Have I been wasting my time doing all my editing so far.
Am panicking I can't sort it out now, I tried so hard to get it right :(

You have a few options

you can use file manager in cPanel and move everything in “wp” to the root and then login your wordpress admin (Remember the address will have changed) > settings > general and put the new URLs in there without the /wp/ bit

Or you could just delete the wp Folder on file manage and reinstall Wordpress into the route and go from scratch

You could also raise a ticket with hostpresto and ask them to move your wordpress install from the wp folder you made to the root and then you would still have to change the URLs in Wordpress

I tried to do that and have now lost everything, I can't believe I have messed it up :-( Will have to start from scratch now.

So I don't mess it up again do I just leave the 3 field on that bit blank - the bit where I wrote WP

Note added - My head is so fried, I literally cannot believe how bad I have messed this up. I will try to do again tomorrow.

Yes where it says “in directory” leave that field blank

it’s not the end of the world, better to make mistakes at the start by learning than further down the track :)

Thanks @Jon I have calmed down a bit now! I started again. Still a bit confused about how I get stuff where I want it but basically it's there. Am going to work on it this week and then launch it to my social media pages on Friday *fingerscrossed*
