My 88 year old Mum had her first dose of the Oxford vaccine this morning, which is great.
We're just waiting for our letters now. Our post is only arriving once a week and its anything up to two weeks late, so it could take some time.

Public Health England: COVID-19 case rates falling every age group except one

Case rates in England are falling in every age group except children aged 0 to four, according to Public Health England.

The highest case rate is still among those aged 20 to 29 - 647.3 cases per 100,000 people in the seven days to 17 January. This is down week-on-week from 879.7.

It dropped from 767.8 to 628.4 for 30-39-year-olds and from 679.8 to 575.0 for 40-49-year-olds.

For those aged 80 and over, the rate has dropped from 577.1 to 515.1

Among children aged 0 to four, it increased slightly from 180.1 to 184.7

These drops are all artificial though ain't they, they are saying today about pubs not opening until May and as much as it pains me it's probably the right thing to do

If the figures carry on it will be sooner rather than later that they get through everyone. My worry is if there are delays in getting the vaccine in and then around the country next month and going forward.

The NHS is playing a blinder rolling the vaccine out, if you consider everyone is already running on fumes. Underlines just how incredibly valuable it and everyone who works in it is.

They are. My concern was more to do with the suppliers and then movement round the country if the weather gets worse. I also worry about the effect when they can sit back and have time to look back at what they have been through.

reading about all the squabbles over the vaccine in the EU I think the fact the AstraZeneca one is made in the UK will end up being our saving grace!

This is the one shot vaccine which we have 30m ordered with the option of 22m

J&J have already said they expect it to be available to make a small impact on our 15th Feb target
