ZOES continued to show a downward trend for the last few days

I think we're going to have a whopping great bounce over the next couple of weeks with schools, but then - like Scotland - it will settle. It all just depends on how it translates into hospitalisations.

I got pinged three times last week after one concert (nothing like overkill), and had particularly close contact with four infectious people, including singing less than a metre apart for 35 minutes and hugging. I had a light fever and a sore throat for a couple of days, and tested PCR negative, twice. Apparently, that was my immune system meeting Covid in the wild and giving it a total shoeing.

The vaccines are bloody brilliant. And sometimes even stop you getting infected at all (especially if you had Covid in March/April last year before it mutated).

ZOE having a small uptick at the moment but nothing major and is probably due to schools reopening and more testing being done / people signing up to register their stats with them

I've honestly just learned to accept that case numbers each day are going to be around 30,000 and that's life!

The current Petrol crisis is being blamed on Covid.

Seen some BIG queues in petrol stations in North Leeds already today. Would guess it will only get worse over the weekend!

I blame the press, I had noticed over the last few weeks that pumps often had locks on so there was some kind of rationing going on. But to tell the general public not to panic - well we all know how that ends.........

It is mad here, people panic buying. I genuinely need to fill up. I might be ok though as I have to use E5 and that tends to always be available.

I thought it was down to supply access due to lack of lorry drivers! Who knows?

I think the whole it's the fault of the press, is a bit like what came first the egg or the chicken. I am not sure they can be blamed for how people react to news. Even if they didn't report it, it would trend on twitter pretty quickly anyway these days.

All the petrol stations round us were empty by Sunday though they looked OK again this morning.

Is the issue not that we have a lack of fuel in this country but a lack of drivers so it's not actually a fuel crisis as we have tons of the stuff?!?

The issue is all the Jerry can cowboys panic buying and filling up every container they have with fuel and running the pumps dry.
