Early indications appear to show that the coronavirus epidemic in the UK appears to be starting to slow down, a scientist who has been advising the government on the outbreak has said.
Professor Neil Ferguson, of Imperial College London, said the slowing of the spread of coronavirus was the result of the social distancing measures brought in by the government.
He told the BBC Radio 4 Today programme:
He said the government is ‘within days’ of having an antibody test available which is a finger prick test.
I honestly think, warmer weather and 12 weeks of lockdown (though not all 12 being as locked down as we are now) and we'll be over this
Someone on TV made the comment about the schools opening again in June. What unearth would be the point to that? Just leave that now until September.
It's the businesses / cafes / pubs that need to come back.
I honestly think the UK (and every country) knows that they need to have a summer as tourism brings millions to each country and they don't want this virus impacting that or else the government will have even less money to give out. We can't have a country with no hotels / resorts / airlines etc.
The Self Employed / 80% PAYE thing has a date of June
A mortgage breaks for 3 months until June
Everything seems to be about providing help / support UNTIL then
