Money Making Megastar!
Maternity leave will be discussed today. Daughter is presently on maternity leave, so is hoping that the Government will increase it by the length of the lockdown.
I had to sign a document saying that I will return to work with 24 hours or less notice! I am on Furlough but not the Government one, my company thankfully can afford to pay us for so long. I don't mind if that happens, I am so fed up I just want to go back. Our office is pretty safe and I am set up to work from home, I was doing that for two weeks before taking a weeks holiday and then furloughed for the last 3 weeks. I have never had this long off work so it's not great for me mentally.I think you are right, they cannot send us back to work or schools as no warning to do so, so it can only be the ability to go out more, whether a couple of times a day or travel to other places....
I'd like to see shops reopen. Not extended to hairdressers and nail bars etc but no reason why a shop like JD sports couldn't open with the same rules as the supermarkets. Garden centres doubly so.
Not hairdressers @homie !!! Are you bald?? It's seven weeks since my last haircut and I am beginning to go a bit mad. I could maybe push it to 8 weeks maybe even 10 weeks but any longer and innocent people may be killed it drives me so mad. I must have my hair cut for the sake of World peace
Campaign to re open hairdressers now !!!
My hair hasn't been cut for 4 months now! I am beginning to resemble Cousin It
That is probably right for your company as if they are technically paying you still then you should be able to go back as and when needed. The back to work through would have to be done safely so as long as companies have put measures in place to support workers safety they should be able to get back to work as soon as possibleI had to sign a document saying that I will return to work with 24 hours or less notice! Shops like JD present all manners of issues that they would need to address like a lot of shops that are different from supermarkets. You want browsers and customers able to walk around at their leisure, try items on etc, as these kind of shops you don't always go in for what you want like a supermarket, get it and leave. maybe hard to have one way systems etc... I hope the government give some advice on this to help.I'd like to see shops reopen. I absolutely agree, and please don't think I was in any way criticising care staff. I was rather saying that they - and their residents - have been sold down the river. The big problem in care homes was people being discharged from hospital without testing and then not testing suspected cases. It is still difficult to get a test unless you have severe breathing difficulties. I think it is unfair to expect care homes to cope with several severely ill infectious patients with or without PPE. Most care staff would not have been trained to use it properly or the homes designed to isolate patients. Where I used to work we had shared bathrooms. I think they should use the nightingale hospitals to nurse infected care home residents until they have recovered and isolate them properly.
I wish England would issue figures for recovered patients like they do every where else so we had some idea of the numbers of people who are currently infectious.
I thought the reason they ended up not using the Nightingale hospital was that they did not have the staff and were expecting patients that were transferred there to also have staff transferred with them which of course was not possible. The big problem in care homes was people being discharged from hospital without testing and then not testing suspected cases. Did find a draft plan online but cant find it now, seemed to think it was as people are saying more exercise and garden centres from Monday and any businesses that did not have to close to reopen, then end of may other business and small shops, some schools from start of june and then others from July (seems pointless).... ill try and find it againThis is the most un-bank-holidays of all the bank holidays!
And not even just because it's on a friday??!?
What are our guesses then for Monday?
Also it looks like trains are getting ready for more passengers from the middle of May so being able to travel across the country could be a thing again!!
