I think the supermarkets have played an absolute blinder - they've justified cutting offers by increasing shop floor and delivery staff, and increasing home delivery slots. It was an almost immediate adapt-and-survive strategy and they should be applauded for it.How do places like Debenhams, M&S, John Lewis etc survive all this?!
but more to the point why do these places operate so close to the wire. I would say ever rising city rents plays a huge part
