pushed back by 2 weeks by the looks of it

What's your plan for after furlough ends then? Are you going back to work?

Sorry, I didn't write that very well. I've not been on furlough (on school holidays at the moment) Just saying there's only two months of the furlough scheme left. In fact I think employers have to start contributing something towards it from tomorrow. Still plenty of shit left to hit the fan yet.

From last night

The most senior infectious diseases expert in the US, Dr Anthony Fauci, has told US lawmakers he was hopeful an effective Covid-19 vaccine will be readily available by the end of 2020.

“We hope that by the time we get into late fall and early winter, we will have in fact a vaccine that we can say that would be safe and effective,” Dr Fauci told a House of Representatives subcommittee on Friday.

Well we can all "hope" and be "hopeful". That's the easy part.

Is russia going to be first over the winning line?

Health minister Mikhail Murashko on Saturday said Russia will seek to roll out a mass vaccination programme against Covid-19 in the country from October this year.

He told Russian news agency RIA that clinical trials of the vaccine, developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology, had been completed.

In briefings to CNN and Reuters news agency, Russia officials said they expect the vaccine to be approved by regulators by August.

Monzo is fscs protected. So if anything happens, you are covered up to £85000

I think with these local lockdowns where is quite a bit of 'drama lama' about it all

Leicester had one, and 2-3 weeks later its infections are right down

We need to accept this is how it is until we get a vaccine but it DOESN'T mean we are going back to the lockdown we had in April!

For anyone with money in Monzo, it might be a good idea to move it out.

Hi @homie, I saw this on Friday and as I was about to transfer some money anyway I decided to transfer a bit more than I originally needed. I was looking to move my savings soon as Monzos interest dropped to 0.30%. Bow Locks to that I say. I know it is "protected" by the FSCS but I am old skool and if anything were to go belly up I like to know that I can walk into a bank and give them a very strong talking to.

So I think these two weeks are pivotal in how we carry on living with this in the UK

We now have the masks and a handful of cities locked down a bit more to control it.

Will it come back under control now?

It appears to be working in Leicester so hopefully the other places will notice the same improvements.

This new test seems a game changer if only as it’s just saliva!

they need to implement these at airports for long flights as you are usually there 3hours before hand anyway and then they can get rid of masks and other restrictions on air travel

If you like stats and want to look at your county then take a look at this!

That collection of graphs and data is outstanding. Much better than the ones the govt put out.

Amazing isn’t it!

Regarding today’s high number of infections We've done 20,000 more tests than last Sunday too, so it's "only" a 0.1% increase in positivity rates. This increase could in whole or in part due to testing more in the NW.
