Well we went out last night for a meal at FiveGuys. It was really busy, said the ran out of burgers on Monday night. Drove past a Nandos which also had a queue outside it.

I think this 50% off thing mon-wed will work REALLY well for what I would call 'destination food' places, the likes of your Frankie & Benny's though I mean, who the hell is desperate to go to one of them!

Have been fascinated with this article since reading it.
Firstly because in my experiences with teachers, they are fond of a drink and it reads like they are refusing to leave the pub to go back to school :D

Secondly because its just such a messed up situation and this summarises it all so well

Im finding it great - I have a fussy toddler and if I go to my local cafes I can pick up some really cheap deals to feed him. Even Morrisons is doing kids eat free all day - You could get a whole meal for £3 for you and your child.

I do wonder if the reality is that we just had too many chain stores with the rate well know shops are closing.

Imagine if we end up going back to LOADS of independent stores after this!

It's definitely wider than getting rid of some physical stores and the staff that are in it. I know of people who have been made redundant who aren't in that position and some of them have been in their jobs a long time and are quite senior.

Looks like we could go back above 1000 infections a day within the next week as we are at 950 odd today BUT that number should be higher due to more focused testing so you literally can’t win!

Preston is next for a bit of lockdown action

Restrictions banning households from mixing indoors or in gardens are to be brought in for Preston from midnight tonight, the Department of Health has said.

Current rules on gatherings in Greater Manchester, Leicester, parts of West Yorkshire and East Lancashire remain in place.

Wider restrictions in Leicester, Blackburn and Bradford will also continue.
