UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is to give a coronavirus press conference later today.

It will be held at Downing Street and is expected to take place at 16:00 BST.

Mr Johnson will be joined by chief scientific advisor Sir Patrick Vallance and Dr Susan Hopkins, medical advisor to the government's Covid-19 response.

I'd say the Mayor is looking quite good.

They seem to have been talking about it for over a month, but nothing has happened. If they want it over half term they'll need to do it fast!

FINALLY!

Passengers flying from London's Heathrow Airport to Hong Kong and Italy on Tuesday will be the first to have the option of paying for a rapid Covid test at the airport before checking in for their outward flight.

The test will cost £80 and the result is guaranteed within an hour.

The aim is to help people travelling to destinations where proof of a negative result is required on arrival.

A growing number of countries have classified the UK as being "at risk", meaning travellers from the UK face more restrictions.

The rapid saliva swab, which is now available at Heathrow Terminals 2 and 5, is known as a Lamp (Loop-mediated Isothermal Amplification) test.

British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and Cathay Pacific will offer it to customers.

Eugh, it's all super wearing. I don't think lockdowns like the Welsh one will work. Plus they already know that psychologically they'd only get down with a full lock down once properly. The people who have been complying will do as they have done and those not will do as they please. At the big horse sales here last week, there were sales agents that had been in Doncaster and got Covid, one of them got so sick they ended up in hospital down here on a respirator and yet they all just carried on as normal, socialising etc. We are now seeing a local spike in infections.

In leeds the rate per 100k has dropped since just before the weekend so I feel West Yorkshire will escape that
