Papers have been picking up on the 'incorrect graphs' this morning as well now

That's a good thing. There have been a couple respected doctors and scientists talking up and saying the death toll is coming down or not surging in this country.
There's also talk about the testing.

Even a couple athletes have asked for a second test because they believe their test was false positive.

Michael Gove has defended the government data used when making the decision for England to go into a new lockdown, following criticism.

The government has now revised data used in a presentation to justify the lockdown in England.

A graphic used at the Downing Street news conference on Saturday had suggested up to 1,500 people could die with coronavirus every day by early December, but this has now been adjusted down to 1,000 people. But the government has stressed it doesn't change the central projections presented.

Looking at numbers for the last few days we seem to have stalled infection wise around the 20-25k mark - unless something drastic happens I would the 'drop' will begin before the end of next week while deaths on the lag will climb a bit

Sir John Bell, regius professor of medicine at Oxford University and a member of the government's vaccine taskforce, said he had some confidence of life returning to normal by spring.

Speaking on BBC Radio 4's World at One, he said he thought more than one vaccine could be rolled out in the UK in the new year.

"It is very close," he said. "It is very important because there is no other really obvious way to get on top of this thing frankly."

Asked if this meant life could be returning to normal by spring, he answered: "Yes. Yes. Yes. I'm probably the first guy to say that but I will say it with some confidence."

UK records highest daily number of coronavirus cases since pandemic began

The government said that, as of 9am on Thursday, there had been a further 33,470 lab-confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK, the highest daily figure recorded since the outbreak began.

It brings the total number of cases in the UK to 1,290,195.

Experts have previously warned that describing the daily figure as a record could be “misleading” as it is not clear how many people were actually infected during the height of the first wave, due to a lack of community testing at the time.

They must be getting these results from the same place Biden got his postal votes from.

R number going down again, think that's the 3rd week in a row perhaps where it's not at least gone up!

Wouldn't surprise me if we end up with the R below 1 by the time this lockdown ends you know

that plus the start of jabs is probably what the government want
