I don't get why they are debating this new tier system and then voting on it. It's clearly going to happen!

The big problem with that Pfizer one is the ultra cold storage temperatures required. Makes the logistics of sending it out and storing it locally much harder. I can see the Moderna vaccine being the main one they use if they can ramp up productions.

In an email to its employees the hospital said: "We'll be running vaccination clinics for three days from when we receive the vaccine.

"As we are not yet sure when that will be, we are looking for volunteers to staff the clinics to deliver the first dose from 7am-8pm, Monday December 7 through to Sunday December 13.

Pfizer vaccine has been approved.

They're releasing later today the schedule of whose getting vaccinated.

It's going to be interesting to see what the government use to choose who gets the vaccination and when. According to the government I'm clinically extremely vulnerable and had to sheild but according to IBD and Crohn's and colitis UK, I'm high risk instead.
They produced a tree depending on your medication and other stuff which showed you your real risk factor. Which means that a lot of people with my condition were classified wrong by the government. So I'll be interested to know what group i end up being in to get the vaccine.

My other half is a volunteer, and he's been contacted about helping out with clinics :)

The Pfizer vaccine has now been approved - happy days. Must admit when I saw the news this morning, I cried happy tears :)

Myself and my daughter are both in the clinically extremely vulnerable group, so it will be interesting to see where we stand too.

What age is your daughter?
I previously read that no children will receive the vaccine as it hasn't been tested on them.

I used to do a mystery shop on the Bath Debenham shop every six month's. I had to buy something for £5.00 and it was difficult to find any thing I wanted. The changing rooms were always very cold and the shop seemed empty. They couldn't compete with Primark.Sir Philip Green lives in Monaco so he does not pay tax. I feel sorry for staff who will lose their jobs.

Mum reckons she's setting the alarm earlier and is going to be showered and ready every day to leave the house the minute she gets 'the call'! She should get the first jab before Christmas. I haven't seen her this happy since...oh, early March.

I think I'm in Group 6 thanks to a couple of underlying conditions, but might be Group 9.

While care home residents are top of the prioritisation list, the logistics of starting the vaccination programme is likely to mean the first doses will be given via the 50 hospital hubs.

That means health and care staff and patients will get immunised first not care home residents.

Certainly health and care staff, and probably teachers and supermarket workers too - think how many people they're coming into contact with every day!

Finally, some light at the end of this very dark tunnel. Let's hope the rollout goes smoothly and as many people can get vaccinated.

Looks like the scramble for the vaccine is on ha-ha!

I'm sure many thought that this day would not come.
