The weekly surveillance report from Public Health England shows that case rates have risen across most of the country and continue to be highest in London.

Depressingly

here is the first BBC news article about Covid

I had an email from a friend who lives and works in Shanghai around the same time to say "this doesn't look too good - better get some supplies in", and another email in the first week of February to say "this doesn't look too good - YOU'D better get some supplies in"!

Doesn't seem possible, does it?

We have moved to tier 2 in Bristol. The other end of our road is in South Gloucestershire and is still tier 3.

Furlough has been extended to end of April. That went largely under the radar.

I agree with that - especially the hairdressers. I had mine done last week and it was the first time since the middle of August. My friend is already stocking up with hair dye.

I went into a coffee bar for a latte today. It might be the first and last for some time.

Well, that's...yeah. When I said I thought it would be a tough one, I didn't quite think he'd go for the village sealing itself off with plague option. Have you all seen the videos on Twitter and Facebook of how packed the trains are leaving London this evening? Complete madness.

I know someone who filmed a pretty horrendous one on a train to Sheffield (thankfully not a friend as such). Yep. Selfish sods. I'm sorry that some Londoners are hell-bent on exporting the new strain North.

Yes just seen that! They have to realise that some of us are not going to do the right thing ever!

I think we're just in for an absolute gerbil's circus until the majority of the most vulnerable are vaccinated now. This is why we cannot have nice things.
