Its good to see the amount of 2nd jabs being done. We has our first on 6th Feb, so I'm hoping it will be our turn soon :)
Should be - check whether the place you had yours is doing second dose walk-ins. I had no invitation for my second jab (because I didn't get one in my own right for my first!), so had to ask when it got to 12 weeks minus 2 days!

Well it seems a bit odd, because my daughter had her 1st a month after ours and she's just had a call to go in for her 2nd on Saturday. She had the AZ and we had Pfizer though, so perhaps Saturday is AZ day (They are only open Saturdays)

The day I panicked and went over to ask if I could be seen as a walk-in, they had two jabbers working - one for Pfizer, one for AZ. The queues were something to behold.

There are definitely supply bumps around the country, no doubt about it. Just from putting two and two together on Twitter and the local Next Door group, I think there's a slight supply problem with AZ in London (seems to be plenty of Pfizer, but maybe that's just because they knew they had to keep it back to second jab the Groups 1 to 4).

We need to be loooking at Israel who are ahead of us with jabs - just look at that curve and they’ve pretty much opened up everything!

We've had an appointment through today for our 2nd dose :)

What do we think about this 3rd wave threat? I know all the scientists are saying it's going to happen but the countries experiencing it at the moment are ones that have been rubbish at vaccinating people so the protection isn't there

I think the EU is very much having a sour grapes moment because they were slower with ordering the vaccines from AZ and are now throwing their toys out of the pram about it and trying to force stock through!

Unless there is a resistant type that takes hold here I think we are through the worst and I have been more worried than many people.

I think international travel restrictions will be with us for a lot longer though.

The NHS coronavirus vaccine booking system has opened to healthy people aged 42 and over.

The national booking system has been extended for the second time in two days to allow more healthy adults in their 40s to book their jab.

People in England who are aged 42 and over, or those who will turn 42 before July 1, can now arrange their vaccine appointment through the national booking website.

The system only opened to those aged 44 and over on Monday.

There had been supply constraints throughout April, with second vaccines for those at highest risk of Covid-19 being prioritised with the supply that was available.

But even amid supply issues, the NHS was able to extend the rollout of the vaccine programme to its second phase, healthy adults under the age of 50.

The first of this group to be offered the jab was those age 45-49.

Within a week of the booking system opening, two thirds of this group had received their first vaccine.

It comes after the Prime Minister warned the UK would probably be hit with another wave of Covid-19.
