So more vaccinated people died than unvaccinated then?

@Topaz beat me to it in replying back to you. The number of deaths stated does not show the age group, so it could be youngsters or middle-aged people. We just don't know at the moment.

Lots of walk in places open this weekend for jabs!

There's been a few walk in clinics near to me, but they've all been AZ only, which is absolutely no good for younger people. Son-in-law is 29 and has been struggling for weeks to find an appointment within a reasonable distance or a walk in that is offering a suitable vaccine. Luckily he managed to get one at the local hospital for today and his second is already booked. Its all well and good opening jabs for all over 18's, but people are struggling to find appointments a lot of the time.

Yup. Bound to happen, though.

I do have a good news story about vaccine effectiveness, though. A friend of mine (double vaccinated) has had both teenage children (13 and 17) and husband (double vaccinated, but only just) at home with Covid for the past week. Kids and husband were a bit under the weather, but better in a few days. And her? She continued to test negative, despite, as she put it "having it coughed or snored into my face 24 hours a day".

Get those jabs.

Went to a hen do on the weekend, 'covid friendly' = same as normal after a few drinks for most people!

The numbers for jabs seem to be slowing down a fair bit though, wonder if we are hitting hesitancy now

it's worth remembering the last time cases were in the mid-20k's on an uptick we were approaching 200 deaths a day!

I have a tendency to disappear up my own backside with anxiety every time cases shoot up, but as someone relatively trustworthy and official said earlier, a good many of those cases now - thanks to the vaccines - are either a slight cold, or completely asymptomatic.

Keep an eye on the hospital admissions. That's the important number now.

Just to look on the bleak side, I would also like Long Covid numbers. I still have Covid Toe (looks like chillblains, but doesn't hurt) and a Covid Rash 16 months on, and I'm pre-diabetic as my pancreas didn't enjoy Covid very much either (GP is hopeful that will reverse, as there was never a problem before). I'm nearly back to pre-Covid energy levels, but it's been a long haul...
