Such as...

Being spoken to when you have food in your mouth

Saying goodbye to someone then walking the same way

Having a social interaction with the postman/delivery person!

Trying to open a locked toilet and then having to wait outside

Mishearing someone for the 3rd time

Being left on a table with a friends freind or family member

please add to the list!!

For me it's remembering people's names. I am useless at it and always miss that opportunity when meeting them for the second time to ask again what it is so by the time I have seen them 3 or 4 times it is far too late and awkward to ask and I just have to fudge everything along and hope someone else calls them by their name while I'm there so I can find out.

Realising that you are singing out loud in public while listening to music through headphones

I quite often have chats with the postman, so don't find it awkward.

Oh man I've been there about 1000 times!! Especially on 'courses' and stuff that i've been sent on for work. If you don't have a name badge on there is next to no chance of me remembering who you are on this one day course!

I really enjoy chatting to random people. I often babble on for over an hour meeting people in town.

Awkward: coffee mornings at work where nobody can be bothered to chat outside of their clique.

For me it has to be someone introducing themselves and I'm so busy nodding and looking interested that their name doesn't even sink in!

waving at someone and someone else thinkng you're waving at them.

which leads me to.... thinking someone is waving at you when infact they're waving at someone else.

or... waving at someone and they don't see you.

lipstick on teeth.

someone going to shake your hand when you're eating.

going to shake someone's hand and they hug you.

the whole ending a conversation on the telephone.

talking on the phone with earphones and someone thinks your'e talking to them.

when soeone stops you aon the street by name and you have no clue who they are.

((hmmmm I have sooooo many lol better stop before it's obvious I am socially awkward )

I'd forgotten about this thread. We had someone come and do a laughter Yoga workshop with us during a recent staff training day. However bad you think that is, it was 100 times worse. Especially as I didn't know the other people all that well.

You've all missed the classic.

either

a) Holding a door open for someone who is too far away for you really to be holding the door open for them

OR

b) Being the person who has had the door held open for them but you are too far away so now you have to do the half walk/jog thing THEN say thanks.
