Two weeks in with Sparkle & Shine and I'm really pleased with how it's going :) I've made some sales and I also have four representatives working with me to promote the jewellery in return for 25% commission on every sale. I'm looking for more representatives so if you know anyone who might be interested, please get them to email me, thanks

Hi Jon, yes it's completely my own business, nothing to do with any of the mlm businesses which sell jewellery (stella & dot, silpada, ice and so on)....I am currently using tictail for my online shop as I didn't have the expertise to build my own or the resources to buy this in. I researched various options and tictail seemed to me by far to be the best one. It's completely free to use (as long as you don't use their apps which are add ons, some are free but most of which you pay for) and you can upload unlimited stock.

Can I suggest you put

name / location / contact details on the footer of the page + payment methods

those are the first things I look for when looking at a website in regards to if I can trust it or not

Can you also not buy a better domain (maybe a .co.uk) and just forward it to your store?

That's helpful feedback thanks

Yes you can buy a .com/.co.uk domain name, that's one of the add ons they offer, probably the first one most people go for when they're ready to start spending money on the website

or I suppose you could just buy your own and point it at the website, that's what we used to have to do when I was with Avon

I would buy a domain

well I would buy a domain + hosting and install wordpress or Joomla on it AND THEN have your shopping cart on top of that

Just dumping people into a shopping system is tricky because they don't know anything about you (as your not a known name)

Your about section needs expanding A LOT

you can tell me to shut up ;)

I am just looking at this from someone who has just come to the site and not been recommended it via Facebook or something else

No it's great feedback thank you! :)

With more sales and more money in the bank I will definitely be going for something bigger and better, but I don't have the expertise myself to do what you just said and right now I don't want to pay for it and all profits so far have gone back into stock

sales so far have been by referring people to the website and some I've taken by phone/email so bypassing the website altogether

But I get your point about people asking is the site trustworthy and is this a professional company.

Tictail though are very reputable and host something like 60,000 online shops worldwide.

Here's the link to their website if anyone is interested in finding out more https://tictail.com/

I'm really excited to be welcoming Asta Wah from www.a-fashion.co.uk to Sparkle & Shine! Asta is going to be selling Sparkle & Shine jewellery alongside her existing clothing range. Why not take a look at her website, I especially love her gorgeous dresses!

I am assuming she dropships

She needs to change the mobile number on her UK site for her UK company to start 07 instead of +447

The page title for her site is 'dresses skirts jumpers jackets' - I assume that is a mistake and need fixing as well

The customer service page
http://www.a-fashion.co.uk/customer-service-22-w.asp

  • We have a specialized customer service team eagerly waiting to assist you and ensure that you're satisfied. If you have any question or queries, please contact us first. We will provide professional and reasonable solutions for you.
  • If you have any questions, please contact us by email via website email before leaving any feedback. All emails will be replied within 48 business hours.
On top of those 2 mistakes I think it needs to be much more detailed
  • We are unable to take any responsibility for wrong address (left by buyer), any custom delay or tax. Because shipping time is highly depended and provided by Postal Service.
Not even sure what that means
The about us page

You've got to be SO careful when publicly hooking up and partnering with sites. It can work well or if the website is total crap or its customer service for returns are poorly handle then it can have a negative effect on your site and reputation and lets face it, with so many websites out there reputation is your biggest thing

You must feel I am being constantly negative but, well, go read the A Girls best friend thread in the MLM subforum and see how that turned out

You're absolutely right :) and you never did tell us what happened to a girls' best friend?! I'm guessing she was shut down for being a pyramid scheme because she was charging a joining fee rather than asking people to pay for a starter kit? (which imo amounts to the same thing, but it's all in the wording). I've read the thread and I was watching them closely from the start anyway as I was approached to be a founder member but I thought the quality of the site was really poor - I never could understand why she hadn't at least got a proofreader to read it - and then there were the fees, didn't she want £30 upfront and then £10 a month, or something like that? So I wasn't at all tempted to join!

None of my sellers operate under my brand, they create their own brand, so I'm not too worried about the quality of the website, I simply fulfil any orders, so I'm more of a middleman if you like.
