Hi All!

I'm looking to start matched betting. Over the past few weeks I must have watched every video on YouTube about matched betting to make my mind up. This forum has helped lots so decided to sign up... Hi! ;D

I'm looking to make approximately £400-£500 per month and I also have lots of time to put into it if needed as I work from home. I have savings, so I can afford to use a fair whack of it to get started but is this necessary? or will £60-£100 be ok?

I will be looking to sign up to Profit Accumulator also as I have ZERO experience placing bets and I'd rather just fork out for the guides and hand holding etc :) to be honest I'm still 50-50 about it all and can't stop the nerves from taking over and just not bothering. I think watching all the YouTube vids and seeing all the affiliate links attached has put me off slightly. I run my own business so I must be very careful with my money but if matched betting can just pay my bills for the month it would help me out SO MUCH!

I think I just need a slap! lol

Hey [member=6083]Ste84[/member]

FANTASTIC to have you on here and posting!!

My advice

STOP READING AND WATCHING YOUTUBE VIDS AND JUST GET ON WITH IT!!

At least do the FREE TRIAL on PA as you will make around £45 RISK FREE and get a far better understanding than just reading endlessly about it!

PA will hold you hand the entire time so don't worry about anything!

Yes you can start with £60 (I did!) and i've made over £15,000 so far

You can easily make £400-£500 a month from MBing so don't worry about that

JUST GET ON WITH IT!!!! LOL

Yeah I think you're right, I just need to get on with it!

I will keep everyone updated with how I get on 8)

Word of caution... take care of your accounts, do your best to keep them open... gubbing by the better bookies is avoidable.. I never took ample enough steps by not spending enough time mugging etc... (Was too busy with my job and task apps to spend the needed time on PA) I have after my first year now just given up as currently there is very few decent easy to do,not time consuming offers around now to justify paying out for PA or any of the others, I couldn't get my head around Accas and horse stuff (Spreadsheets and me don't get on LOL) so make sure you get into that to make it worth your while, as easy offers are currently dry. I may take out a month on Odds Monkey around Cheltenham time to see if there are any good offers at that. Good luck

I can't for the life of me think what spreadsheet you were using for horse refunds or accas. If you were that would be enough for drive me round the bend! Sod that lol

Cheltenham is gonna be £££££

ah yeah, Mug!! Follow the advice under 'keeping accounts open' and you should be fine in the long run.

Welcome... yeah, just take things slow and easy, FOLLOW the instructions till you are confident (does'nt take long) and be as active as you can... MBing is a funny beast, some believe mugging like hell is the way to keeping accounts open, others, don't mug and never get gubbed, some say don't do EVERY offer that you get, some say DO every offer that you get LOL, there does'nt appear to really be a pattern. The good thing is your part of a community here at the Shed which will be able to keep you on the right track

Struggling to understand unmatched bets :( there is just so much to learn if you have never bet before lol

So on BetFair the little number underneath the lay odds... my lay stake must be under this amount when I first place the bet?

Thanks :)

Excellent!! that explains a lot.

Cheers Jon :) closing in on my first £100 profit and I only started on Monday so that's very good!

Just taking it slow as I really only need to be making around £400 per month.

Just found out I've messed up my £50 Ladbrokes offer... bummer! Pretty sure I followed the video guide on PA to the word but somehow I've went wong somewhere.

This was the chat:

Sports Shauna: I have reviewed your bat and can confirm that your bet has not qualified for this promotion.
Sports Shauna: The odds for your bet are less than 1/2 and to qualify the odds must be 1/2 or above.
Sports Shauna: If you wish, if you place a qualifying bet a free bet can be credited.
Sports Shauna: It will not be credited automatically so you may have to contact us once you have placed the bet.
me: What would be the value of the free bet?
Sports Shauna: The value will match the stake of your qualifying bet.

Any way I can turn this around or do I just move on?

bet again, lay again and then go on live chat and ask for the free bet to be credited

what odds did you do your original qualifying bet at?

Thank Jon.

So if I was to just do the same process again by betting another £50 and then once that's done just hit them up on live chat to get a free £50 bet? Sorry for all these newbie questions, I must sound stupid!

I did try to find out the odds with my history on Ladbrokes but it doesn't seem to show the odds just the stake details... I'll keep looking.

I'm similar to [member=2821]mabozza[/member] in that I cannot get on with Accas or horses. I also don't have a spreadsheet as my pc does not have Excel so I can't try the [member=143]auntygeek[/member] one (though I see she HAS been promising for a while to do a google docs version, PLEASE :))

What's the deal with Cheltenham exactly? I am not currently with PA or OM etc as, like Mabozza, I cannot justify the monthly fee for the few footie offers I am able to do and also like [member=2431]Uhhhhh[/member] I am not keen on jeopardising the few accounts I do have with horse bets.

I REALLY need to raise some money quick though (house purchase), so may try Cheltenham if at all possible.

Thanks :)

[member=4097]Knopfler[/member] I might do a few bits at Cheltenham but certainly not EVERY offer that the same bookies has - that's how I (and many many others) got gubbed with Paddy and BFSB last year. I have a few bookies that I have a horsey 'profile' with so I'll dip my toe in here and there with the bookies I care less about, and see what happens.

I've seen on PA that people are already getting the pre-Cheltenham gubbings this week.
