Simply stake £20+ at Evens or greater on the 1.55pm at Ascot and we’ll give you an INSTANT £10 to bet on ANY other meeting before midnight Saturday!

I want to do this, but what does "at evens or greater" mean?
Thanks for any help!

I did this offer today for a nice easy £8.42 profit. How did you get on?

No, [member=4606]feistyblue[/member], I bottled out. I think it was because it was just before the race, and I need so long to triple triple check, I thought I could make a mistake. If I had longer I would have done it. I'm such a coward and I can easily talk myself out of betting when it isn't totally straightforward.
I would like to try some of the casino offers, but I tried the first one and had absolutely no idea what was going on. I thought you had to press the spin button, but didn't know whether you have to spot matches yourself. Anyway, I didn't win anything.
I'm glad you did OK, and good luck!

[member=4180]Hollyhock64[/member] You absolutely did the right thing in leaving it....horse racing can be tough if you leave your bets until the last 10-ish minutes before the race because the markets are so volatile that you need to be confident that you can deal with any problems or issues that might arise.

Not to put you off horse racing though, just take baby steps and go for some races than are an hour or so away and you can always post on here to see if you're doing things right ...someone will always be here to check if for you :)

Now then, yet another stupid question.
I am looking at a bet on the Liverpool v Watford match. The oddsmatcher says it is over/ under, and over 4.5. I don't know what this means or how to place the bet.
I would be very grateful if anyone could set me straight.
Thanks in advance.

Over 4.5 goals is basically betting on there being 5 or more goals in the match

Which bookie and exchange are you using for this offer??

Is that more than 5 goals from either side in total?

in total

so in the match you are betting there will be 5 or more goals IN TOTAL (hence above 4.5)

So betsafe is here

https://www.betsafe.com/en/odds#/#/Event/1827541

Under Number of Goals with Over 4.5 below it

and on betfair the market is here

https://www.betfair.com/exchange/plus/#/football/market/1.127849742

I see thanks. Very clever sending links to the exact pages.
I very much appreciate your help and recognise how kind and patient it is of you to take the time to keep going over basic details like this. It is quite unique to be able to get help and advice in this way.
Thanks very much.

I have just placed my second Leobet sign-up bet where the odds are boosted and you have to work out the odds. Whilst doing so I saw that I had 2 profit boosts available and realised I hadn't selected the "boost" option when I placed my first bet. Oh bugger. This means I haven't calculated it right, put too much on at Betfair. I wondered what to do, should I contact Betfair and ask to cancel the bet and re-calculate it? The match is tomorrow, the 19th.
Thanks for any advice!

[member=4180]Hollyhock64[/member] You've overlaid at the exchange. Send me all of the info: back bet amount, back odds (both the odds that you actually backed at, and the odds that you thought you were backing at), exchange odds, lay stake amount, liability amount, was it a free bet or a qualifying bet, what match is it and what selection did you bet on etc.

There's a couple of ways to fix it, don't worry.

I just wanted to check about wagering. If you have to wager a winning £50 FB x3, does that mean you have to pay £150 into you account in addition to the £50 free bet?
Thanks for any advice.

[member=4180]Hollyhock64[/member] No, it just means you've got to 'turn over' the money that is already in your account....so if you have the £50fb and it loses (so you have £0 left in your account) then you're all done. If the bet wins (so then you'll have money in your account) then you need to wager it until you have fulfilled the 3x wagering (£150) or have lost the money at the bookies and won at the exchange.

Ok, so if you won say 20 the first time you would lose the 50 free part and have to add 30 to make it up to 50 for the first bet? Then if you won again and it totalled 50 ok, but if it was more would you only bet part of it?, up to 50? So confused!

Sorry [member=4180]Hollyhock64[/member] I misread your previous post - I didn't see that you'd mentioned that it was a winning £50fb. SO...you put a £50 free bet on and it won at the bookies? And that free bet has a 3x wager attached to it before it becomes withdrawable?

What bookies is this and what bets have you done so far?

Well, I don't really think I made myself clear. I am trying to work out how much money I will need in my kitty to do this bet. It is 138 bet. I have done my qualifying 50 bet and my free 50 has been credited. So next I have to place the £50 free bet. I realise it could lose to the exchange, which would be fine. If it did win though, I think I would have whatever I won minus the free 50. So my question is, do I make up the difference to £50, or do I have to deposit an extra £50 for each stage of the x3 wagering, that is unless the bet loses at any stage?
Do you understand what I mean?
Thanks again for your help, I just don't understand wagering.
