I've looked at sublimation for over a year now and worried to go into it, with the cost of start up, buying equipment alone is expensive.
Anyone done this? Is it worth it?

Printing on clothing, mugs, bags etc. There are loads of items that can be used for it. You need sublimation ink and printer, heat press and all accessories so it's a bit of a money pit to start.

I've had a brief look at this but just imagine the set up costs... You need a specific printer and Inks then there's the outlay for the plain stock to print on. Maybe have a at one of the print on demand companies as @rich110991 mebtioned. There's quite a few POD companies here in the UK
Further afield, printful and Artsad (not sure if I've spelled that right). There's a useful fb group secret society of pod which is has members worldwide running POD sublimation for products such as duvet covers, dresses and even boots.

I’ve never heard of it either but @lyns86 if you’re in the USA I’d just use Printful which does all of that for you?
Im UK. I've tried a pod but got nowhere with it. Maybe I should give it another go. I can't remember what programme I used to make the designs but I struggled to get into it as there was always something wrong. I gave up in the end. Might try a better one to use and get myself onto some Facebook sites for it. I'm on a few sublimation ones.

Thanks will look at those groups. I tried pod without being in groups and really struggled.

Where are you based? If UK also join Inkthreadable Hub Fb group. Its really useful although users tend to have Inkthreadable as their supplier but lots of useful info to glean if you want to use other suppliers

Ive just gone to search the FB group and I'm already a member. Will have a good read up on it!
Do you know a good app or website to use to make designs? I think I will bypass what I used before (can't remember the name now) it was pre covid so a while ago, and look for something else.
Thankyou.
