Hi, I'm Kirsty. I started answering surveys for extra money about 2 years ago to supplement my income. I started slow but now am earning around £200 a month. I also enjoy comping as I never know what's going to turn up and I love the surprise when I win something. I recently won a 7 night holiday to the south of France which I am going on in September :)

Hello, nice to meet you. What survey sites do you currently use?

I've been using Pinecone Research and QMEE for a few months and made a (very) small amount of money. I'm looking for new ideas and saw this site mentioned on the green site. I have seemed to have noticed that if people are making decent money from a certain service it's hard to get in now

Hi Scratch

Thanks for signing up to the site! - Great to have you over here.

Do you have any idea how much you are planning to earn each month? Good to have targets, check out the diary section and you can see what others are doing to make money each month.

Good to have another pineconer on here ;)

Hi everyone,
It's great to be here! Been browsing for a few days and the site seems really supportive and informative. My name's Kathryn and I'm from sunny Sheffield 8) . I'm 41, work part time (3 days per week) and I'm a single parent to an 8 year old son and two cats. I'm looking to earn extra money at home, as in the short term I've got some debt I need to pay off and in the longer term I want to buy a house (I currently rent privately). I also want to build up some savings. Ideally I'd love to eventually work for myself and earn enough to no longer need my job but think that's a loooong way in the future!

I'm open to all suggestions for earning money and I'll be ploughing my way through the site in the next few days to get some ideas. I recently earned a bit of extra money referring my friend, who's a wedding photographer, to a colleague - colleague and his fiancée booked my friend for their wedding so friend gave me a bit of 'commission'.

I also sell items we no longer need on Ebay and local selling sites and would like to do more of this - maybe even set up an online shop - but need to find a niche. Just today I downloaded Roamler, so I'll be exploring that next.

Love the idea of 63336 and think it'd be right up my street but I've checked their site and they're not currently recruiting in the UK, unfortunately. Also like the idea of blogging but not sure what I'd write about!

In my spare time I love running, reading and watching films. Looking forward to getting to know you all! :D

Hi Money Shed!
I'm Tim Williams, founder and managing directory of MumPower, a new UK based online service looking to connect skilled mums with companies looking for outsourced staff. Think PeoplePerHour but for high quality work carried out by UK workers (and no spam jobs promising 50,000 Twitter followers for $10).

I'll put a new thread up about MumPower with some more details as I'd love to get some feedback from the Money Shedders (is that the right term?).

Look forward to hanging out here more,
Tim

Hi and welcome to new members!

@Kathryn, you might want to focus on just one or two of those areas to start with rather then spreading yourself thinly over lots of different areas. Which way of earning money online really appeals to you most? Starting a diary in the Earning diaries section of this forum is a great way to track your progress and get advice on your own money making journey.

@Tim I haven't heard of MumPower before - I'd be interested in looking in to it :) I think we are known as Shedders, we'll be happy to give some feed back :D

Hi Jon,

Not sure how much I'd like to earn just yet, a few hundred a month would be nice but gotta start small. I'll take a look at the diaries.

Pinecone is small money but it's so easy and the survey's seem pretty regular

Hi, Just found this site: looks interesting! I've been doing some clixsensing (is that even a word?) for the last few months and am interested in seeing what else I can do at home.

Thanks for the welcome guys, I'll have a look at the diaries and see if it's worth me starting one or whether it's a bit soon. I don't want to start one then bore you all to death with my lack of money-making skills!

Re: blogging subjects, jot down a list of all your hobbies and interests (past and current) or anything else that you either know a lot about or wd be interested in learning a lot about. Et voila, many possible niches will magically appear :)

I'm sure we will all help by suggesting niches from your list - though if you have a really good one might be better to seek advice by PM rather than advertise it on forum before buying domain name etc.

Hi

My name is Sharon, I've worked in offices for years but was eventually off with ill health which has made me really think about what I want to do. Since then I've been looking for ways to work from home so I can have a better balance. I've been lurking for a while and this site is brilliant. I've already signed up to a few things, so hopefully my dream of working from home isn't too far away! ;)

Hi

Thanks for the reply! Very kind of you! I've signed up to the phone apps they've been fun. not had a payout yet though! Also got an email of LB this morning for an Internet Assessor role, so I'm going through that and 360crm have invited me to do training lol. All go! I did 360crm training ages ago but ended up not taking the job. so we'll see what happens! Been trying PPH too, got offered a job this week just waiting now...It would be soo great to be able to earn some real money from home.

What jobs are you doing? :)

Hi Sharon!!

FANTASTIC to have you posting on this site. I love it when lurkers turn to posters as it means that people view this site as being

a) friendly enough to post on
b) organised well enough to not seem overwhelming

Great to hear you are already getting on with stuff, The money is there if people want to earn it, you just have to be up for applying and doing the work (which you obviously are!)

Sounds like you're making a good start, Sharon! What kind of jobs are you looking for on PPH?

At the minute I'm selling unwanted items on FB and local selling sites (helps if the people who say they want the stuff actually turn up  ), putting any purchases through Top Cashback/Quidco and using their 'snap and save' type options when I shop at mainstream supermarkets (doesn't happen often as I do my main shop at Aldi). I've also just joined Roamler and have my intro assignment out of the way, so just need to get on with earning points so I can move up the levels. I'm going to investigate 63336, LB and the other work at home options that are mentioned on here but I work Weds-Fri (currently on lunch hour!) so think that's a job for this weekend. I've been spending the evenings this week catching up on the threads on here after DS goes to bed :) .

Hi

I'm applying for Virtual Assistant roles mainly but also craft jobs as I enjoy making things! I've still got a full time PA job in the "Real World" atm though! lol. Sounds like you're quite busy yourself!
