As is usual on forums it can be good to have a thread where you can say Hi and talk a little about yourself.

For me.

My name is Jon. I started trying to earn money from home about 5 years ago. Originally it was just to earn a bit of spare extra cash but as time has gone on it has become a sizeable amount of my yearly income.

I started out with survey sites as I'm sure most of you did and over the years now do Text Q&A and various tasks for Field Agent and Roamler.

Re: The Introduce yourself thread!

My name is Beth.

I have just a wonderful daughter called Claire who is 8 months old and I am absolutely desperate to earn some money from home.

I live in Coventry and there isn't a whole lot of opportunity around here for work so am hopeful that I could find something here I could do for a number of years before she is old enough to go to school.

Hey all!

I discovered this site off a Twitter post.

I'm actually pregnant (5 months) at the moment so am looking to keep an eye on ways that I can continue to bring in an income.

I do surveys already for Pinecone and Valued Opinions etc but not much else. Would like to get into this smartphone stuff but I have a Blackberry and there doesnt seem to be any apps on their app store that you can make money from unless anybody knows any

Re: The Introduce yourself thread!

Hi guys,

I'm Tina and I'm a student who has been researching how to properly use the net to get an income from it. I've spoken to a few people, some who have earned five hundred pounds a month online, and this got me interested in trying it myself! So far, I have made twenty pounds in the last couple of days off survey sites.

I thought I would share my thoughts about internet money making and what insight others have given me!

Re: The Introduce yourself thread!

Hi all,

Like most of you I am keen on seeing if it really is possible to make a reasonable amount of extra cash each month from working online in my spare time. It would be great to have spare money for extra treats / pocket money for the kids.

I'll wade through the posts in more detail as from what I have seen so far it's really encouraging.

Hi everyone, my name is Jack.

I'm a student at university and am looking to make a bit of pocket money alongside my studies. Everyone knows how poor students are, in my case that's very true!

I'm looking forward to having a look around and signing up to some of the sites that have been suggested.

Hi Compy

Can I ask, what sites do you recommend for price comparisons? I know the usual ones to use for insurance and the like but would love to find one that compares say average household items like a branded Kettle and can tell me the cheapest place to buy one.

Re: The Introduce yourself thread!

hi EmmaH & hardworkingmum - it depends what I am looking for, but mainly I tend to just google the item and put the word cheapest next to it, it tends to bring up companies that are cheaper or at least claim to be
the cheapest, I have just this minute done it on my Doggies Flea Treatment, the Vets charge me £35.00 a pack, online without putting the word cheapest after the search I was getting between £28 - £32 when I added the word cheapest
I found a company charging £24.48 delivered, have just ordered it.

for insurance etc I use the Meerkats (how cute is that new baby meerkat! Lol)

Re: The Introduce yourself thread!

Good morning!

I'm Lou and I'm a newbie to the world of earning from the interweb.

I've just returned to self-employment after a few years out there in the tedious world of bosses and workplace politics - yuck! I'm steeling myself for the white-knuckle ride of highs and lows that comes with being your own boss - but you can't beat that sense of achievement can you?! Every day is sooo different!

Anyway - it'll take a little while to build up my little business, so the tips I've found on here for earning a few pennies are very helpful. Thanks everybody!

Nice to meet you all
Lou :D

Hi :)

Only thing I do is make sure I hit the first target every day. I don't worry so much about the higher one as the first target is the one that counts towards the monthly bonus.

I do find it a bit obsessive in the sense that if for example I have hit target for so many days and I don't qualify for any surveys on one day I will watch SBTV (swagbuck tv) all day just to get the target! The vouchers made it worth while and it meant not using my credit too much over Christmas.
