So I have this idea.
There is a LOT of fantastic content on this site and I feel i need to harness that content to better promote the site. Members come here and write fantastic guides that maybe with a few screen shots would really be useful to people.
As I have mentioned before, In its original incarnation The Money Shed was a blog. I setup a nice looking template with Wordpress and some SEO and away I went.
Since so much of the 'working from home' community (Mumblogs etc) is blog based I want to connect with them better and a forum maybe isn't natural crossover fit for them.
So I had this idea
I create
blog.themoneyshed.co.uk
Which would update with a new post every Friday about a different method or topic about working from home or being frugal or whatever.
The content would be in a style of 'forum post of the week' type thing. The blog would advertise the forum heavily and at the bottom of the post would be a link to the particular thread the post was on so that people could continue conversation there (sort of like how TouchArcade works)
The main idea behind the concept is to highlight the great content we have here and give it more exposure.
my questions are
would duplicating forum posts to blog.themoneyshed.co.uk hurt how Google sees me at all?
Do I move the forum from www.themoneyshed.co.uk to forum.themoneyshed.co.uk and have a sort of 'gateway' page for both the blog and the forum when you go to www.themoneyshed.co.uk and again, would that hurt my Google ranking for a while at least?
