Destiny 2 is out now. Now sure I can face that Grindfest again. I also feel like I only get access to 50% of the game since I can never muster up enough time to do raids and stuff...

That games online only isn't it? I never played the first one so I doubt I'll get this.

So I will probably get the new COD.

But at the moment I'm wondering about Playstation 4 Pro or Playstation VR. To get both would be a big investment but one or the other would be ace. They are doing Fallout4 VR, Doom VR and probably Wolfenstein VR. It wouldn't take much for a COD VR either. Now that would be pretty cool.

You watch Emmerdale at all?

I ask because every other episode it has someone in that show actively using PS VR lol, it's commical how unnatural it all looks!

I've not even managed to try the thing yet but I really do want to. Grand Turismo is coming out in a few months and includes a VR version as well which should look (and play) amazingly!

I LOVED Doom single player so can imagine that being good in VR as well

I love Fallout so I think it would really bring up that whole world. The reviews I read elsewhere talk about the screendoor effect so I want to try one out before I drop...

Christ. Is that how much video games cost these days?
Just looked for the new COD and see it costs £50. The season pass for all the DLC is a whopping £40 on top of that, if you want it.
Was contemplating buying a PS4 in time for the new COD and possibly Gran Turismo but may think again.

I feel seriously old. I remember saving my pocket money for £1.99 or £2.99 Sinclair Spectrum games from in WHSmiths, back in the day.

I still have my spectrum upstairs (boxed) with all its games (also boxed)

I do remember that £1.99 pocket money price point!

I think it was about £100 for the last cod with all the seasons pass. I bought it from the ps store so paid full whack BUt I get my psn credit about 75% cost so was only £75!

It sounds a lot and it is a lot but really, £75 is probably one night out where I live. Heck. The last theatre tickets I bought were about that price for one. I probably spend 20-30 hours a week playing COD so I guess I'm in the thousand hour plus range for just this version. So 'per hour' it is probably less than 10p per hour. Pretty cheap entertainment.

I'd suggest buying a PS4 and 12 months psn+ membership. You get free games every month and discounts for online versions. Buy your game 3-6 months after realise from CEX (or similar) and you'll get them less than half price.

The PS4 is a mighty bit of kit. Bluray player/iplayer/Netflix/etc. It also plays games!

Ps.

Except for the pioneering days (spectrum/Atari/BBC/Amstrad) game prices have always been a bit on the heavy side. Everyone remembers the mega hit the SNES was. Most people have forgotten the RRP of Super street fighter 2 was £69.99 and adjusted to today's prices that would have been £110+!!!!

And no online servers to maintain!
