All,

Our lurker v poster ratio on here is pretty big and in the wrong direction.

I need to clear up some space as each of the user profiles that non posting users have created takes up a certain amount of space. Space that could be better used.

If you have gone to the effort of signing up to The Money Shed I would suggest you at least get your post count above 10 as if it has been a long time since you registered and you haven't really posted you may have your account deleted.

Phase 1 : Users who have signed over 3 months ago and not made any posts will be removed

Phase 2 : Users who have signed up over 6 months ago and still have a post count under 10, continue to login and do not post will be removed

Once your account has been removed you will not be able to sign up again using the same email address

This site is ALL about contributing and not just taking information - it makes for a far better site and experience and I don't think I am asking too much here for what you can gain from this site.

Please feel free to discuss this below

I agree, if you sign up you may aswell post and most inactive accounts are unlikely to return or will forget their details.

A good step towards further creating a good contributing community!

I like speaking to new people and getting a new perspective on things. I look forward to seeing some of the lurkers posting :)

I must admit, I have learnt more from asking questions than I have just from looking at the answers.

On top of that, actually feel I have made a few virtual friends through posting.

Yikes I'm scared :-\ Can I stay please?, pretty please, Jon. :D

At the moment I can't contribute meaningfully as I am not earning any money online! I was hoping that this would change but I have just been offered more hours at work so may have to postpone the online earning :(

I enjoy reading all the posts on here tho :)

You have nothing to worry about - you would not hit phase one or two

Have things not progressed as you had hoped? surely anyone looking at the site is good overall? I am not sure what you gain by deleting accounts.
I have noticed there doesn't seem to be as much activity as there once was.

It's more to do with saving space on the server than anything.

Also it's not so much a case of things not progressing as I had hoped. I never thought 1 year ago I would have a site with over 1200 members and 26,000 posts. Likewise with a blog and also 4 companies all paying me to be featured on here and companies also paying to be featured on the blog.

Do not mistake 'members' for 'eyeballs' on here that gain and take from this site.

In the last 30 days the forum alone has had over 17,000 session and over 111, 277 pageviews of which over 92% has been UK traffic.

This site has offered a middle ground that never existed before between companies offering work and people looking for it - thats why we allow reps on here and self promotion.

However at the end of the day, all I can ever do is provide the platform for people to connect on. If they don't want to post there is no real point in them signing up, it's not like they are losing access to anything.

If people just want to do survey and click sites then they have the green site . If they want to earn more and connect with a community then they have TMS

I have to disagree, some days I struggle to keep up with the new posts and I check the site several times an hour. I completely support Jon's decision here, it frees up space which he may need at some point; nothing wrong with regular dusting to keep the cobwebs away ;)

The general idea is that it gets shot of people who lurk and take, but not give. There's no I in team.

The I in team is here, in the A hole:

I would prefer a site that isn't seemingly busier and busier if it is full of good opportunities and nice people who support one another. I personally have really been enjoying TMS and my time on the green site has reduced considerably, despite this I'm making more money than ever.

Aww I'm soooo sorry I didn't like your post. It wasn't intentional. Would you like me to go back and hit like for you?

I thought you was not going to be posting here anymore? As you said in your last post back in November.

I am surprised at how many eyeballs as you put visit. Many people that use sites like this are usually keen to tell us how much they are making etc. Seems strange they do not sign up. Not really sure what people are taking? Maybe make the forums members only. As for space perhaps do away with the same people constantly liking each others posts ;)

Usually I 'like' a post that I want to acknowledge but don't necessarily have a reply to, there isn't a way to see who liked your post and when though unless you go back and read your reply and notice it at the bottom.

Forgot to reply to this bit. I think people might look for the codes that give them bonuses on websites - like the shed14 one for finditforless, they'll come to see when Roamler or Field agent etc are getting new/great offers and then there's the things like Queen's thread where she posts about focus group testing offers. That stuff would help them out without needing to sign up here at all.

Hi Jon, maybe you could have a board with all the top scoops in but only let people who have made over 5/10 posts see it.
I am not criticizing as you do a fantastic job, just a suggestion.
