this is less to do with 'freeing up space' and more to do with the working from home community as a whole.

People tend to only find other opportunities because of other people sharing them, then they gain money from that opportunity. If I said to you 'have £20 for doing this mystery shop at tesco near your house' you would say 'thanks' back.

Plus if people have gone to the effort of making an account on TMS and just leech the information and don't post then if I remove those users we as a community aren't missing anything as they don't post anything anyway
I do understand that for the community to thrive you need active users who are posting the opportunities that they find. ;D
However, I also think the information some of the more experienced users offer is fundamental to the success of TMS. I just hope these valuable posts are still just as easy to find if some of the less experienced users and lurkers all post their thanks when every new opportunity arises. (I know this wouldn't necessarily be an issue right now as it's still relatively easy to keep up with the forum, but maybe a few months down the line.)

I guess there is a balance between encouraging every user to post and ensuring the posts they make aren't spammy. :p

People can also thank by contributing to the site in general. Posting on existing threads, helping out, chatting with other members and just generally getting involved instead of just being silent and taking from the site all the time.

Oh gosh, I've got a feeling I'll be in one of those groups :( . I have a posting history but for one reason or another, I haven't been around much lately on the forums. However all that is shortly to change as I'm about to experience a huge change in circumstances at the end of the month, so I'd really appreciate it if I could stay. Due to my change in circumstances I'll definitely be getting more involved over the next few weeks and months. Hope that's ok. :)

Good for you. I agree. Why should people go to the trouble of posting things on here when you get other people who will take take take but not give owt back. I rarely post opportunities; in fact I never do, but I reply to people's posts and I have started posting competitions. It takes a few seconds to say thanks to someone

You may not post a lot of opportunities but you contribute in lots of ways to the forum. Chatting, being friendly, posting comps etc. I think that's what makes the difference isn't it. I don't always post big moneymaking opportunities either but I hope I'm helpful, like you, and people appreciate it. There is a great community feel here and that is what keeps me coming back regularly, even when it is just to read what other people have been up to.

[member=1]Jon@TheMoneyShed[/member] Him indoors registered a while ago but hasn't used the site. He's likely to get caught in a cull at some point if not this one. But, as we have the same I.P addy, if you block him, will you end up blocking me too?

Ooh I think I'm in danger of being deleted (cull 3) and really would like to stay.

I don't post very often but I think I posted the lucky phone (although I failed in finding it already on here). I also used the site to contact nat21 when I saw she won the selfie lottery, which I hope shows I do think of the community.

One of the main threads I read (but don't currently contribute to) is the matched betting. I'm concerned that the username I originally signed up with is the same I use for all my gambling accounts.

I guess I'm going to be one that will be deleted :( I got a temp job that took all of my time so I wasn't active, but that's just ended and I'd really like to stay as I'm going to be needing some other ways of bringing some cash in at this time of year. I promise to be more proactive on the threads as well!

Think of the time I would save if I was caught up in the cull ;D

Then again, the time I spend reading random diaries and chatting shit with people (me, not them) is made up by the opportunities I find here :) So on balance I would like to stay ;)

Oh please don't cull me :-[ I know I haven't been very active lately but had a lot going on and with one thing and another have had to leave my 'proper' job (as me mum calls it) so now I really do need you all more so now. I will be more constructive and contribute best I can (tho I am still learning) Thanks :)

I hope I'm safe ;D

I'm definitely going to post more often when I go full time freelance! Hopefully the end of this month/beginning of January. This forum is great and I want to participate more when I can.

I also have not logged in or done any online work for a few months due to personal circumstances making it very difficult.

I am hoping to have more free time from now and have logged in tonight for the first time and seen the notice about lurkers and wanted to comment that I have found the site very useful in the past and will be sharing any relevant & helpful info when I am online :)

I guess I could be one of the ones caught... :-[

I do love this site and I have gained a lot from it too - you make a fair point about thanking and giving back - I'll add posting on this forum to my resolutions for 2016.

Please don't whack me !

It's been 4+ months since the last cull of inactive users / users which don't post very often anymore.

so..

Ladies and Gentlemen

Next week I will be starting the 4th User Cull, this one will be equally as strict as the others and will automatically be targeting 2 user groups who

'Have been a member for over 3 months and haven't posted but DO navigate the site'

or

'Have been a member for over 3 months, have a post history but barely post and DO navigate the site'

If you are a member who just lurks and doesn't post but DOES take information and participates in the opportunities but doesn't even post to say thankyou then it is you I am targeting.

A lot of people earn a LOT of money through this website and there's no reason to at the very least post saying thanks or letting others know how you are getting on.

If you don't want to do that then why go to the trouble to making an account on TMS anyway

Once your account is deleted you will also be banned from signing up again based on your IP address and signup email

Can you change your screen name? Like another poster I am wary of posting on the MB site as my user name is similar to my screen names at a lot of bookies. You are right about sharing and I will try and be more pro active, but I think that I need to feel that what I am sharing is valid and not just to keep my post numbers up, there's no value to anyone in that, I am extremely grateful for all the work that all admin and contributors do.
