I still have my TV (yes just the one) from about 2006. Only got a new one then because the old one was stolen.

Mine is still fine for a while yet!

Great to see some like-minded 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' people on here in this throw away society we live in :) - up until 2 years ago I was still using my old crt monitor, ha ha!

The static discharge in your house between that and the TV must have been scary lol

For us (or me lol) it's less about 'if it ain't broke' and is more about things are moving forward and when I saw 4K Content around a friends house I wanted in as we had (at the time) as 720 HD TV with a DVD player!

Currently some big sleeve editions on amazon for £10

ET - 4k Bluray
F&F8 - 4k Bluray

These have been cheaper at tescos during the tesco direct shut down and some people are saying they picked them up for pennies in store on a yellow label, but £10 each delivered from Amazon looks a great price.

I'm still waiting to get the BTTF Big Sleeve Edition for £10

:)

Aye saw those, good price for ET

iTunes have got BTTF Box Set for £14 but it's not even worth having as it's not in 4K

bought both the deadpool films in 4K today while they are £2.99 each

My digital 4K library is growing at a very dramatic rate this week lol

when I last rented a physical video it was £3.75 for a new release. £2.99 for Ready Player One is a great price to buy :)

Out of interest which 4K player do you own?

Its built into my TV - so streaming only through netflix/Amazon Prime.

My PS4 is only the HD version (not the Pro).

I did check the T&Cs of the amazon offer and if it detects the display can't play 4k content then it downgrades to 1080 (or 720) where appropriate.

It also does that if it feels the bandwidth is sufficient for 4k content.

Ahh built in.

Are you tempted to buy a physical 4K player at all?

Not at the moment. I use my PS4 for BluRay so hope the PS5 has a 4k drive and I can buy 4k BluRay discs.

I own 1080p blurays and if I move to a 4k player I'd buy 4k blurays.

:)

I’m not sure 4K blue rays exist

You mean UHD?

God they are so expensive aren’t they!!

I mean unless you go down the route of some weird brand you’ve never heard of that added cost once you’ve bought a 4K TV was just too much of a barrier for me. You need to get a decent make (LG,Sony,Samsung etc.) because you’ve no doubt spent £££ on the TV and the last thing you want to do is plug in some low rent player into it!
