There's no real 'weekend' when you are earning online is there?

I already knew this to be honest but It got confirmed again this morning when I woke up to a WhatUsersDo email that was sent to me at 2am and then I had the 'reminder' that the test is still available at half 5 in the morning.

I've done the test now but really it just shows how 'reactive' you need to be in the game.

If a situation shows its head no matter if it is at the weekend or late in an evening I will 9/10 always do it if I want to.

It's not uncommon for me to pickup Field Agent tasks on a Saturday morning, i've also been out doing their 'nighttime billboard' checks as late as 2am.

It's a shame but I think if you really do want to earn online you need to be flexible, ESPECIALLY around weekends. If like me, you work 9-5 throughout the weekend Sat-Sun is when you catch up with a lot of your work.

I think I would love to be able to switch off at weekends and just ignore work that is available but then I'm not sure how that would help me in the long run..

Do others feel the same? Do you just want your weekends back as well but accept this is part of the job of earning online now?

When that other job (you know the one I mean) paid me a good wage, I finally felt like I'd found the perfect work at home job. I set my hours, hit my targets, and had the weekends off to do whatever I wanted with...mainly watching football.

Now things have changed I never have a day off. I simply can't afford to. I don't drink so I'm not missing out on going out at the weekend, but I still feel crap when it's Friday night and I know I've got to get up and work the next day.

It's something I think we have to accept unless we find something that pays enough to not warrant doing that bit extra at the weekend.

The Friday night to Saturday morning one is VERY depressing.

Knowing I have to get up early again to start working is a REAL downer.

I guess it doesn't feel so terrible to me, but I chose this lifestyle to fit around my son, so I kinda went in knowing that evenings when he slept and weekends where I had more childcare support were my main working times.

If I was to be honest, many people don't get weekends. Retail, Sunday Working, Overtime and raised expectations even if you work Monday to Friday means that more and more people work at weekends.

I think the main thing is if you compromise special time with those who are special to you. I have done that and it was awkward. I think the main is to do your best to make sure it doesn't impact on your special time.

I think people are looking at this from different angles. By no weekend I mean that I work 7 days a week pretty much constantly. It's pretty draining and like you said, difficult to fit in special times!

I think with working all the time or having to be 'always on' the chances are that you do have to be flexible with your family as horrible as it sounds.

I have declined nights out and doing other stuff with family to earn money but sadly that is part and parcel of earning online and to be fair they are usually quite understanding but I do understand it can be annoying for them

It is really hard to strike the right balance. I always look forward to the weekend, but in reality, it isn't much different from a week day for me, except I feel guilty if I'm working and not spending time with my family!

I think my family are just used to seeing the top half of my head constantly hidden away by the laptop.

Another working Saturday here. Lots to do on the blog, and such little time to do it!

Wow, £20 on 63336 already. That's good going.

I don't have a weekend and haven't really for years since I left the 9-5 Monday-Friday job to go back to uni, and then moved abroad and then became a mum. I go through phases of working 7 days a week or not doing very much, but pretty much work during the evenings and at weekends.

That means I'm not as flexible with regard to grabbing opportunities. I don't log in to 63336 in the mornings because I have the kiddies to sort out. They go to bed at 7pm so I have evenings, but during the day they take up my attention. DH works Mon-Fri so at weekends we tend to go out as a family during the daytimes.

I do think sometimes that I just need to take a day off but on the ppc sites I use I need to hit certain targets every day in order to get a bonus or get referral payments etc. I have tried to get some things does early so I don't have to do it in the evening but I find myself doing it in the morning and evenings, and a bit during the day... I think I am addicted! :-s

It is very difficult to get the balance right especially when you are working from home and even more if you have an ordinary job as well as earning online.
There has to be some shut off time.
We do need to enjoy life to some extent otherwise it isn't worth it if you are earning the money but have no time to actually enjoy it.
I know many friends whose marriages/relationships have broken down because they drifted apart by work.
I very much believe in having some time away from the computer and I make sure the weekend is different to the rest of the week just by not doing quite as much as I do during the week.
So yes I may have missed out on some earnings but my health and my marriage takes priority.

If you do a full time job as well it is even more depressing when your weekends are spent doing online stuff. A couple of times I have gone away and had no internet or signal and it bothered me a lot how many opportunities I was missing out on

If jobs are available at the weekend, then I'm quite happy to keep working, I even like starting early on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

It feels good to me to be earning money at home when most people are out spending money at the weekend.

Between jobs, I can go out and do things during the week when most people are at work.

Like black pepper said it really is all about balance. I've been self emp for a while and it's really made me realise how important the whole work/life balance thing is. I took a massive pay cut a few years ago, having previously being the biggest earner but actually out lifestyle hardly change, I was a lot less stressed than I had been and had more time so we didn't just decide to go out to eat a couple of nights a week. I'm around more now so can cook from scratch and due to having more time I can shop 'clever' and genuinely think that now we have better food on the table for much less money.

Especially with children it's finding the balance to be able to spend time with them whilst showing them a good work ethic. I really want my daughter to see me working and that women can have careers but I still want both me and her dad to be around for her as much as possible. my Dad worked abroad Mon-Fri so I only ever saw him at the weekend and as such I really think our relationship isn't what it could have been. I also have two nieces, who when they play "mummy and baby" as all kids do, the way they play it, the mummy takes the baby to nursery and that's pretty much the end of the game then :( I'm not judging or criticising anyone's parenting and the girls love it at nursery, but I would really like to find a way to be available for the little uns while working.

I do work at the weekend, but I've become a lot stricter with myself about it and I only deal with urgent stuff, not anything that can wait till Monday.
