Hi all :)

I'm still really new to TMS, and have been posting a little bit. I'm Dom, 30, and have to work from home due to disability - I had to give up the job I loved, and still coming to terms with it.

Today I finally jumped feet first into the matched betting pool, did the free offers and signed up for a 1 month platinum membership with profitaccumulator. I get paid tomorrow (final wage from old job which I can't do any more), so will use some of that as a starting point for the MB.

I'm mostly housebound at the moment, but hoping to not only change my money situation but also start getting my confidence back (going outside is really hard due to pain and fear, and fear of being in pain away from home and not being able to deal with it). I have a lovely guy coming round on Wednesday this week to start the ball rolling, so it is a growth in all ways challenge for me!

At the mo, I'm registered with Appen and have just been accepted on to a priority waiting list for WSE, so that is super exciting!

I just need a kick up the posterior sometimes, I know I can do this, and my reward, for both the MB and the rehabilitation is a holiday in December that I have been wanting to go on for two years!

Any tips and encouragement gladly appreciated.

Dom :)

All sounds great [member=2867]domravioli[/member]

in regards to what I highlights, you are correct, you can do this!!

I wrote a post about it here

http://blog.themoneyshed.co.uk/make-700-a-month-from-home/

There is NOTHING stopping anyone earning AT LEAST £700 each month from home via one way or another!!

Being part of a community like this will help give you the kick up the backside you need

Being part of the green site won't ;)

Thank you everyone for your kind words.

I was supposed to have occupational health come round today but they didn't turn up (again). I've rescheduled for tomorrow, it is getting beyond a joke with them!

I've had an invite from iSoftStone for some WSE work (registered with them a couple of years ago!). Just about to do the tests, fingers crossed.

Matched betting starts later tonight for me, its been a whirlwind of 36 hours!

Here's to a new start.

All the best Dom. As one who has recently started MB I would of we this: check that your bets have been placed and check again. Having just lost £70 and finding that my bet wasn't placed (I'm sure that it was) I have taken to photograph in each bet until it settles. That way at least you hav something when you get on to the support lot. Luckily it was £70 of profit not my "own" money. It's definitely worh it. I only started at the start month and (even with my error) haveade over £50 profit. £50 for foun very little. If I had had a bigger bank to start with te profits would have been greater.
All the best.

Hi all !

Thanks for the encouragement. OH finally turned up!

Tried MB through PA, and ended up getting most of the accounts limited or closed. Followed the instructions to the letter, and it still happened, so that's a no go area for me, almost ended up losing money.

I'm going to be looking through the site later today to see what else I can do (I'm on Appen Flex, and do bits for them whenever they come up) other than MB as I have zero interest in doing it again, regardless of what many people say. I guess I'm just a little more cautious, and the PA customer service is worse than pathetic.

If anyone has any ideas OTHER THAN MB I would be super grateful.

Since you've only just started [member=2867]domravioli[/member] I guess you are using bookies like Coral / Betfred / Tote etc.

have THEY limited your accounts?

What sort of odds were you using your free bets on? I tend to keep all mine between 4.0-6.0

how do you end up nearly losing money when you MAKE money on ever offer that you do???

Hi Jon,

I had Coral, Betfred, Betway, Dafabet, Bet365, Paddypower and William hill all limited on the same day. I opened these on seperate days, and used mug betting as described on the platinum forum regularly. I had all free bets cancelled that were currently open, which is why I almost lost money.

I paid £23 quid for exactly a week of "insight" and made zero profit due to this. I followed it to the letter, every single instruction word for word and still ended up no better off. all at 4.0 or better, but because of the limiting of accounts I got zero profit. That isn't what I signed up for, and the tone of your post is quite standoffish - I didn't limit my accounts, they did. No free bets, can only place x amount of wagers per week regardless of how much money I spend with them.

That's how. Maybe it worked for you and others but it didn't work for me. So if you could post something constructive I would be super grateful, as per my post you quoted - I have no interest in doing matched betting as it simply didn't work for me.

I can't even think of a reason why that would happen normally let alone if you did the grand total of 1 offer with those bookies!!!

Anyhooo

You can still earn an easy £500+ a month doing web search evaluator work for the likes of Leapforce / Lionbridge / Appen etc.

This is really strange. I don't think Jon was blaming you in any way - we were just trying to get to the bottom of what happened.

It's very unusual for those bookies to limit the account straight away before any free bets have been used as they're quite tolerant.

1) is it possible you had any accounts with them before or anyone sharing your household/IP address does?
2) did you put any deposit limits or betting limits on when signing up, even inadvertently? A quick check on live chat would confirm
3) are your individual stakes per bet limited eg if you try to place a £50 Bet does it reject it?
4) when you said you used '4.0 or better' do you mean the odds on your free bet were higher than 4.0? What did you use if you don't mind me asking?

Even if you're done with MB your answers might help others learn from the situation or we might be able to spot something that you could do differently on other accounts and ensure this doesn't happen again.

I'm sure you did follow all the instructions but when you're new - I don't mean this patronisingly it's just my own experience!! - you often don't know you're making a mistake until you look back with more experience.

There's a lot I would do differently looking back!

Also sorry to hear of your health problems. I suffer too and I know how difficult it is.

I agree with this. It would be constructive to get to the bottom of it. I think it would be helpful to other users. I for one would like to know how so many accounts got banned in 1 day. I'm just getting back into MB myself. I think by the tone of the post there seems to be some real issues with PA. They may have affected how you feel about MB overall. I personally chose oddsmonkey and so far that's working well for me.

Besides MB, mobile apps and the odd survey.. I do really well with Appen. I applied to iSoftStone but never actually received any work from them. I know this isn't the same as earning but comping is something to consider if you don't already. I like to get 30 minutes in each day as a little extra. I've won thousands worth this past year and it helps motivate me.

I had two accounts promo restricted in the same week as I started following tipsters and was actually winning money! Not even at high odds, between 1.5-2.0. They just don't like you winning.

1) is it possible you had any accounts with them before or anyone sharing your household/IP address does? - No, nobody else has accounts here and as I've never done any form of betting before they are all new sign ups.
2) did you put any deposit limits or betting limits on when signing up, even inadvertently? A quick check on live chat would confirm - No restrictions placed by me. Checked on all.
3) are your individual stakes per bet limited eg if you try to place a £50 Bet does it reject it? - No, they aren't limited.
4) when you said you used '4.0 or better' do you mean the odds on your free bet were higher than 4.0? What did you use if you don't mind me asking? - PA. I signed up for the platinum membership, what a waste of money that was.

Even if you're done with MB your answers might help others learn from the situation or we might be able to spot something that you could do differently on other accounts and ensure this doesn't happen again.

I even spoke with PA support (who are as useful as a chocolate teapot) who said they don't know why it happened, but it wasn't my fault.

Well as I don't work for them, I have no idea. even spoke with PA who haven't had this scenario reported to them before. Well thats £23 quid down the drain.

I'd be super grateful if you all could stop mentioning it now - as I'm trying to get on with earning from sources that are legitimate and useful. IF you have any suggestions (you said appen, even though I put in more than one post I am on flex with them, and waiting to be put on project) that are constructive I would be grateful to hear them.

I've worked through the toolkit (the parts I am able to do) and I have nothing else.
