Ok so I’ve had 2 notifications come through today saying I’ve referred 2 friends and got $9.82 each for them so far. My HP share for the first friend I referred still hasn’t come through though so I think they have rejected it which is a bit of a piss take. And still didn’t get one for joining up myself.

You get a free share for signing up someone, if they take the free share or not shouldn't have an impact on the free share you get allocated

We’re going round in circles here

1. I signed up. Deposited £1. So I should have got a free share for that? Right? I haven’t.

2. I referred my friend, I got a notification saying I would get a share for it. It showed me that it was for HP. But I thought I had to click “Buy” - so because I clicked “Buy” they sent me another notification saying my order to buy the share had been rejected. So then my free share for HP vanished too. I emailed support and they said “if I rejected the share then there is nothing they can do” - but I didn’t reject the free share, they rejected my attempt to buy a share... and I think I lost my free share because of it.

3. I referred a second friend, didn’t get a notification about it.

4. Today I’ve just had 2 notifications for 2 free shares for referring 2 friends. Both for Under Armour. So now I don’t even know who those 2 referrals are, it could be someone on here who asked for a link earlier, it could be the 2nd person I referred.

So I’ve got 2 shares at the minute, and I think I should have at least 3, if not 4. I have emailed support but I haven’t heard back yet.

Im really sorry to ask a dumb question, but if you could upload screenshots of your notification screen on your mobile from the very first one you got, it might be easier to trace back this problem for Jon and I.

I suspect the 2 free shares you got today are for you and 1 friend.

I also suspect that they may have rejected your referral from point 2 because in their terms and conditions they do say you can reject a share but you won't be allocated one after that.

But again, if we could see the notifications - as arduous as that may be - we will be better able to help you and advise you on what to do.

What I mean is: when the share was rejected, they could have taken that as a sign you didn't want the share...

and as in their terms and conditions, you are free to not want a share but they will not offer you another one

Ah ok. Even so, I made a mistake of trying to buy another share, not to reject the free one, ah well.

Yes, if this is what has happened - this is unfair and you could have a case when you speak to support.

Again until we see the notifications it's really hard to be sure, and at the moment I'm just speculating.

If I were you, I would write to support and say something along the lines of "I received a notification that I would be getting a free HP share at 13:42 on 13/04/2020, however, I then received a notification that the order was rejected at 14:31. I think this is a mistake, but please can you explain what happened?"

The fact that your buy order for HP didn't show up on the notifications is a bit weird to me. So something definitely has gone on here.

But it looks like both your Under Armour shares have been awarded. So that's 2/3 shares dealt with.

edit: Also, just realised another way to see what has happened is have a look at the History tab just above notifications - literally only just noticed that one. Lol.

Haha. Well despite feeling like I’ve been robbed of 2-3 shares.. I’ve got £25 in my balance which is better than a kick in the teeth so thanks for the link and thanks Jon for mentioning it to me.
