Hmmm, I passed the test and I had a message about the secure browser - I've installed it fine on my Mac now and logged in with the facial recognition but I haven't had any confirmation I've been added to the Ampersand tool nor the test batches which is frustrating.

I'm at the same stage with Cable... I get invited and it's there in My Projects but I don't get any emails with access to the tool to start work

Persistence is the key I think with Appen. It was a few months before I got any work and then I once I got my first project, the doors just seemed to open for me. I had several hundred tasks to do recently and was up most of the night doing them at one stage.

Been over a week now for me. I guess they aren't going to let me do the second part of qualification. Maybe they picked those who scored highest on the inital test first?

TBH, don't exactly want to work on Ampersand again anyway... but beggars can't be choosers these days.

I’m just waiting to see if I get access on the Ampersand project. I don’t need anything straight away but just blocking me from a project for no reason & not even explaining peeves me off. If they have no vacancies that’s absolutely fine but I could at least be on the waiting list?!

@auntygeek How odd....did you get any work at all on there? I've not done any of the search engine eval work.

Probably because you've done search engine evaluation for a different company (Appen?), as they cross reference your details. Otherwise technically people could do exactly the same work and get paid twice.

It might not be that, but it's bound to be something procedural and that's why they've dismissed you rather than putting you on a waiting list.

I wouldn't hold out on the transcription work - I never got invited for the 2nd part of qualification and so I assume they've already recruited the numbers they needed.

You should probably also read the post directly above you, which answers your question. It came and went before most of us even got the opportunity to qualify for it.

I've not done any search engine evaluation with anyone... I've done ad ratings with Lionbridge which ended over a year ago. I applied, passed the test, then kicked out for this one... probably close next week anyway!

I've done the Zoom/phone recording projects (Morningstar, Sacandaga) and the photo projects (Culp) which were quick and easy so lets see if we get paid.

Ugh, that sounds like a digital rollercoaster of emotions! The anticipation, the browser installation, and then poof – it all vanishes without a second-stage invite. Major head-scratcher! I didn't find exactly the same kind of transcription job, but I've been checking out other kinds of jobs too, since those transcription ones aren't always available when you need them.

So, I started looking at other jobs that could be a good fit for me. I found some latest job openings in Tucson area and decided to apply for a couple, like customer service and data entry jobs. Now, I'm just waiting to see if I get a call back. I'm hoping to land one of these jobs. It's a bit different from doing transcription, but I'm ready to try something new.

Have you tried Data Annotation? That lets you choose your hours and has a steady stream of work.
