I might start advertising on Fiverr or similar. I've done quite a lot of work for iWriter, but the pay is abysmal. Have also done a bit for Copify, but haven't had a bad experience, may press on though. Has anyone worked for WriterAccess or Crowd Content?
Never heard of iWriter before

That's QUITE the paygap!

For example, a writer may earn $2.15 for a 500 word article as a "Standard" writer but could earn $25.35 for a 500 word article as an "Elite Plus" writer. If you receive a "special request" from a requester you receive an additional 5% (i.e. 70%) earnings per article.

Their prices are NUTS

It is pretty soul-destroying to be honest, which is why I think I need to find some better paid writing from home gigs, an understatement of the century. That said, I do feel that I've gained a bit of experience which is something

Just dropping in to see if anyone had any ideas - I haven’t done much writing for about four months for various reasons; first of all mum went into hospital for a bit and needed full-time care afterwards (now picking up, thankfully), and then I had a herniated disc in my neck and a partially dislocated shoulder, which is NOT MUCH FUN. They’re still really painful - going on for six weeks now - and not likely to get much better for anything up to three or four months yet.

However, I still need to earn…

Anyone got any tips and tricks for setting up voice recognition so that I really am doing the minimum of typing?

On a MacBook I just tap the microphone icon on the keyboard twice and start talking!

Seems like most content Mills or freelance writing sites pay poorly, unless I'm missing something.

I paused Fiverr content writing, as after their 20% fee and self--employed 20% tax it's just not worth it.

Yet 'freelance writing' seems to feature in loads of guides for money making ideas.

I think the money in it is writing en-mass

so if you knew about horse racing

and someone said can you write 50 x 500 word articles about these 50 different horses and you could churn those out in about 20-30mins each then some of the pay at content mills is pretty good for an hourly rate

obviously on PPH, Upwork, Fiverr you can set your own higher rate

Which content mills would be worth working for? And what pay rates to start?
Although I'd be surprised if many people can churn out 500 words in 30 minutes, unless the quality doesn't matter.

For blogger outreach work quality doesn’t hugely matter - normally they just want a decent blog post with a link including naturally written

I know folk who make 4 figures a month working 7 days a week for fatjoe writing!

What would be the best way to get into writing blog posts for people. Some of these types of jobs seem to feature on content mills, but obviously, again the very low pay for the time is a big issue. I'm intrigued by Fatjoe's writing.

You can apply for copywriting work with FatJoe here

You have to remember that outreach work is about quantity as much as it is about quality for a lot of SEO companies and so they aren't expecting you to spend 2hours on a 500 word blog post for them so it's important to reset your expectations somewhat and factor that in to the rate of pay they are offering.

IF you want to do high paying copywriting work then become an authority / expert in something and offer those services at a good price.

I applied to Fatjoe before but didn't get a reply. How much do they pay per word/article?

I THINK it’s about £7-£8 per 500 words but I think there are ways of increasing that

Thanks, Jon, you are right I need to have a niche. Think my best idea is to start writing about mystery shopping/merchandising etc cause that's where I have the most knowledge.

Something I always thought of doing, but I think these companies rip people off a bit too often ;(

Due to the costs involved in adding writers to our project management software, you’ll need to be able to write at least 3,000 words per week to be considered for a position.

Our compensation rate is $0.02 per word; please don't apply if you're not okay with this rate.

Hi

I would apply for this, but I'm not sure if I could commit to 3,000 words a week due to my other work commitments.
