I'll chance my arm at home bargains for the first time tomorrow. Hope I don't live near you!

Wish me luck!

Turns out I was confusing things - no Home Bargains round here I was thinking of Brand Max Outlet Depot - I managed to score something I should be able to make money on regardless!

Got some posh shower gel RRP £20 for £3.99 which I should be able to sell for approx £15 on ebay - another seller as this price and they are selling, I have a couple of fragrances they don't have which is good!
Do you have any tips about packaging toiletries like shower gel/shampoo for postage? I'm a little worried the plastic bottle might split ifdropped and also that the squeezy top tap bit will get depressed and shoot out a load of goo mid-transit!!

Sorry another question!

Do you scrub off the price stickers showing the big reduction? Or do you leave them on and hope the customer isn't too aggrieved when recieving the goods?!

Something like shower gel I think I would package in a box with some of those air pillows to fill the space. You could use packaging peanuts if your worried about the box squashing.

I would remove the price label if you can. Who the heck pays £20 for shower gel anyay ???

Yeah I think it's mental too but they have sold for there or thereabouts before so I'm not in dreamland. I can afford to drop the price a little and still make a profit.

Despite being marked as 3.99 each when i checked my receipt two of them rang through as £2. Result!

Never sent liquids through the post. I do know thought that you need to check whether your courier will carry them (from memory I think myhermes won't and Royal Mail will only do it if you attach warning lables).

Andrew, very much enjoying your blog. Hell, I'll even click a couple of adverts! ;)

I have loads of questions but I'll limit myself to two for now ;)

1) How much space do you have given over to storage for your buying and selling?

2) How long does (for example) the Primark bought branded crap stick around for before you sell it?

Keen to do some similar stuff myself but I already take up quite a bit of room with my LPs, CDs, etc and don't want the other half throwing stuff at me :)

A friend of mine collects those bobble head toy things that are around a lot these days. Nearly every franchise seems to have a bobble head version of it. If you know which ones are in high demand there's quite a bit of profit in reselling those. You have to get the right ones though. Tesco have 2 for price of one at the moment.

Do you mean the "POP" vinyl figurines?

Just bought a couple of those from Primark for £8 a pop. Got them on fleabay for £15 each, not a huge profit once you've paid for postage but still handy!

Plus as they're £2.95 to send I effectively make an extra £1.10ish profit as I've paid approx 60% face value for my stamps :D

Hi. Thanks for reading. Answers to your questions as follows:

1. Currently have a garage, a bedroom, and my front room fulll of unlisted stock that I'm slowly working my way through. My bedroom has all the listed stock in it but I'm running out of room rapidly so will be rejigging all my unlisted stock so that I can move stuff out of my bedroom. It does tend to take over the house a bit!

2. I usually turn over the stock within a month or two of listing. Everything that sold in my latest blog was first listed in January and that's when the majority of it was picked up. I could sell it quicker but I always price fairly high. I also keep some stock back for Christmas as that's when I get the best prices.

Hope that answers your questions!
