Hi. Does anyone know the best way to find the more unusual ways/less talked about to make money online?

I love reading about the less common ways in addition to the obvious ones.

For example I found one about growing plants for profit - maybe not for me- but really interesting!

I was wondering if there was a way to speed/quicken the process of the search?

Anyway. Cheers, Nate!

I was reading some links from Ben's homeworking yesterday and I read something about working as a ghostwriter for a dating agency You write profiles for people. Sounds interesting. I might look into it.

I've seen those 'writing dating profiles / writing LinkedIn profiles' jobs appear nearly weekly on UpWork I swear!

I think 'unusual' means a different thing for different people.

To some people running an OnlyFans would be seen as unusual yet people make insane money from doing so.

Same with streaming the latest games via Twitch

Or streaming casino slots on YouTube

I would be wary of these types of things.
If they are asking you to write a profile for a client then you are going to have to do a lot of work for little gain, to understand the client and what they are like to write a really good profile.
If they are asking you to create fake profiles for them then you are unlikely to make very much money as profiles can be scraped from other sites by a bot and don't need humans to write them. Chances are they are looking for some other angle.
If you are interested in Dating as a means to make money, we provide dating sites that can be highly profitable, although I have to admit the highly profitable usually refers to someone that has some idea of digital marketing. But having said that, anyone can do it in theory.
If it is something that interests you then drop me a message and we can discuss it, I might even be able to offer you a dating site for free if you are a good fit.
But to go back to the topic, if someone is offering to pay good money just to write a fake profile, then it is usually a con somewhere.

Hey Nate! I know this thread is a bit old, but I thought I'd chime in anyway. I've been in the same boat as you, always on the lookout for unique ways to make money online. One thing I've found helpful is to look for niche communities or forums related to a particular interest or hobby I have and see if anyone there has found ways to monetize it. Another tip is to search for "side hustles" or "side gigs" rather than just "make money online" - you might find some more unconventional ideas that way. By the way, I recently came across an article about a new app called Cash Bingo that supposedly pays you to play bingo on your phone. I haven't tried it myself yet, but it might be worth looking into if you're interested in trying out something new.

I can't find it now but I did see something on YouTube where people meeting certain criteria could sell their fecal matter for money I can't remember the criteria off the top of my head but it's not just anyone - I don't think mine was eligible. I just thought it was quite funny - though this post isn't really much help to folk as to how to earn money I fear.

I have an interest in shorthand. There are a handful of us (all older ladies) who each write an article in shorthand and then the book is passed around the group. This isn't for money - it's a group of us practising writing (and reading other peoples') shorthand (in this case Pitman's shorthand). I wrote a feature a while ago about jobs for the oldsters and made a quip about eliminating things I as an oldster couldn't do. I think I mentioned pole dancing (well Toni Basil is older than me and she can probably pole dance) but that I might get a job in somewhere like Spearmint Rhino (are they still about?) washing the dirty glasses.
