Have finally got my branding sorted out.

www.thereverend.co.uk

I did find a new theme but the page load times jumped from 3.5 seconds to 16.5 seconds!

Wowzers!

I will have to keep on the look out for a new theme but for the time being, at least my brand is updated.

Yeah. A friend of mine runs https://www.facebook.com/fatpugcreative/ so he helped. I did choose the colour! :D (out of a list of colours he suggested).

I will check out Neve - but I want to keep my load-time down.
I’m happy with the load times on neve

you using caching / image optimising at all to help reduce page speed times?

I agree page speeds are important but the folk with mediavine must just not care because that platform seems to slow down pages like nothing else!

Not using any caching/image optimisation - got any recommendations?

I keep an eye on speed times, not for mediavine (they don’t want me!), but one plug in I had dropped my load times to 20 seconds plus!

I can’t be having that!

W3 Total cache is the popular one

if you want to speed up images and stuff more locally you could use a CDN as well

I use WP optimize for caching and WP smush for images. Changing the settings to pre-caching seemed to speed things up with WP optimize.

I like your new background colour and logo.
