At the risk of looking like an ad in the back of the People's Friend, I bought a heated boot a few years ago and it's been the difference between sticking the heating on in the afternoon and not, when I'm at my desk.

If my feet get cold then I'm done, so it keeps my feet warm, which keeps me warm, with the world's thickest cardi on for extra sartorial elegance.

I was looking into one of those. I also spend a lot of time cuddled up to a water bottle which helps

Will be interesting to see what help the Chancellor provides now they've been pressured into doing something and of course need a distraction from party gate. I bet Boris and No. 10 wish they never heard the name Sue Grey :ROFLMAO:

Thing is, costs are going up, but can anyone remember the amount you earn on anything on here going up recently?*

*To be fair Prolific raised their floor a bit recently, but it's a drop in the ocean..

This is something I have been saying for a long time.

Pincecone research have been paying £3 a survey for as long as I've been doing them, about 6 years.

Matched betting is another one. Free bets are still usually in the region of £10 like they were 10 years ago, but it will buy you a lot less now. In fact there seems to be less offers too.

Appen have put their pay up on some projects. Pinecone used to be £4 when I did it, so that has gone down though. Bet365 give out a lot more freebies than they used to :)

I don't think they do. Sure, they give free bets more often now, but they are £5 bets rather than the in play offers which used to be up to £50 for some people. I missed not getting the in play offers during the champions league. The trouble with a £5 free bet is I'm more likely to punt it on something rather than carefully lay it like I would with a big bet. But that's just me being undisciplined.

Lately, I have been mulling over whether it is time to return to IRL work rather than carry on with this online work. I love the flexibility hence have been ok about less money but not sure now, it seems to get harder and harder to find opportunities that are not taking the p!ss.

I'm glad I took the plunge, and there are some flexible jobs out there too. There's also the bonus of holiday pay too, it's years since I had that. I'm keeping on the online stuff too, win-win.

It's all getting a bit serious. I have buddied up with a friend at the livery yard so we share horse care and that means I save diesel. Horse feed has gone through the roof. All the equestrian sports bodies are having to make changes to help the how centre keep going. It's a really big problem.
I also have started to use the work shower - much nicer than my own anyway - so Monday to Friday I don't have to turn on my hot water boiler.
Now I am sharing the horse duties that does give me more time to try to earn extra money as we are well aware that we won't be getting a pay rise this year in my full time job.

The petrol price rises are staggering aren't they. It was £1.89 UL here yesterday. Managed to get a cheap parking permit though. Our local authority does a 6 month parking permit for £35 for low paid workers ie under £16k a year so that's worth a look if anyone else does PT work and pays for parking.

Pushing £2 a litre for Diesel now. I can see normal unleaded being £2 too by the end of the summer if this keeps up.

I'm cycling to work now daily unless its absolutely pissing it down.

How is everyone? I'm finding that prices are still going up, my weekly shop has gone up another £20. I am cutting brands out which has helped but it is a bit depressing. I'm still debating whether to just get an IRL job, but am going to leave it until next month before really looking.

Yes, our grocery bill is sneaking upwards. Thankful it's salady-type food and no heating season at the mo.

Yep prices still going up.... What kind of job are you thinking about doing? I didn't think I'd be doing shop work but the store discount kind of made it for me. I also found out recently that staff got a £150 payment for their utilities and £150 towards school uniforms.....Didn't get it as haven't been there for six months but keeping my fingers crossed they offer more perks like this as it would help a lot. I've been wondering about all this make tax digital stuff I keep hearing on the radio too for SE folk.....I really don't want to have to start paying for programmes or anything, I still do it all by hand in a notebook....
