There is a leak in the bathroom. It is coming from the flat above us. They don't leave in the flat, the post-box is full of their post and we have no idea who is living there.

The mgmt company have no interest in helping us, telling us its between us and the flat above.

This is going to be a long hard slog.

The real issue is we don't have a leak in our flat so the plumber we had today can't 'fix' anything, and we can see the water is coming from 'above' but can't see where it is actually coming from so we really are up shit creek.

Another call to the mgmt company tomorrow and maybe we will see some movement but If this is fixed in 3 months time, I'll be surprised.

Hi. This could be a long drawn out process, so, put everything in writing. Reference any prior conversations when you do write and be specific. You will also need to keep a written log of any damage caused, Take photographs etc to document this. A phone conversation is a he said/she said minefield! Also if the management company call you, tell (not ask) them to confirm all conversations in writing … just tell them it's for your insurance company who you need to notify about this anyway.

The management company do have legal rights to intervene in this situation if they wish to do so.

This sounds like an absolute nightmare.

Well we had a plumber round yesterday. He confirmed its coming from elsewhere. Phoned the mgmt company up today and after telling them we have had a plumber round, and he confirmed the leak isn't in our flat, they are sending someone round next week.

I've had that as well WITH a bad throat but it's 100% Hayfever!!

That happened to me a few weeks ago. It's being investigated but I'm not really holding out much hope. Very annoying isn't it!

JUST RAIN ALREADY!!!

In leeds, it's been doing this thing where it pretends it is going to rain with dark skies etc and then it does naff all

Virgin Media went down for a couple of hours.

It was impossible to get through to a human on the phone. Eventually had to lie to the computer system. It then hung up on me. The NEXT time I called I went through to a human!

While on the phone to them it miraculously fixed itself.

It had nothing to do with the previous 5 calls where it went through its automated testing system that told me the router was unplugged (it wasn't).

The human then told me that there has been no problem with our broadband. I said, "When did the box last connect?" 'It has always been connected' "No it hasn't".

But seeing as it was working, it wasn't worth fighting through this conversation.

What a pain though!
