Virgin Media went down for a couple of hours.

It was impossible to get through to a human on the phone. Eventually had to lie to the computer system. It then hung up on me. The NEXT time I called I went through to a human!

While on the phone to them it miraculously fixed itself.

It had nothing to do with the previous 5 calls where it went through its automated testing system that told me the router was unplugged (it wasn't).

The human then told me that there has been no problem with our broadband. I said, "When did the box last connect?" 'It has always been connected' "No it hasn't".

But seeing as it was working, it wasn't worth fighting through this conversation.

What a pain though!
We've had ongoing issues with Virgin Media for a while. It's not a MAJOR thing we just lose the internet everynow and again while the router reboots itself endlessly for while ( can be up to an hour ). It's not an 'us' thing as others in the street go off at the same time we do which obviously means that it's an exchange issue.

The thing is you look at other providers and their fibre speeds are pitiful. I'm on 250mb speed here and the likes of sky / BT offer me naff all compared to that!

It goes down here for a bit but I know they get a return signal from the box and broadband (uptime) so I don't believe their BS that there are no issues...especially when I'm here and there ARE issues.

Yeah it sucks when as the customer you have to PROVE there is actually a problem!

superdrug!

got an email about the hack but I'm unsure if my data has definitely been compromised. The email states that the customers are to blame as their systems were not breached but that 386 accounts were compromised due to the hackers getting email addresses and passwords from other sites.

this is total tripe as it's a relatively new email address with a unique strong password!

I've asked them to close my account via a contact form but the site MIGHT have chucked me out before it reached superdrug.

ironic as I'm migrating accounts to new emails due to the Curry's fiasco!

It took 5 seperate calls to get to a human. Four of the calls went through an automated investigation to fault find and kept telling me the box was unplugged and to call back once we had plugged it in. The fifth call finally managed to break the 'automated investigation' and get through to a human.

Any bookmaker that makes you opt into promotions.

Twice this week I jumped on some good odds for Sportsnation only to jump round the house kicking myself because I forgot to click on opt in first.

Telephone Banking!

Well more specifically HSBC Telephone banking

They decided to block one of my cards for 'suspicious activity' yesterday but you can't ring until 8am to unblock it and then it took 30mins for me to get through to them AND NONE OF THIS CAN BE SORTED OUT ONLINE!!!

The deluge of spam D.M.s from my facebook 'friends':

Hi....I actually got another friend request from you which I ignored so you may want to check your account. Hold your finger on the message until the forward button appears...then hit forward and all the people you want to forward too....I had to do the people individually. PLEASE DO NOT ACCEPT A NEW friendship FROM ME AT THIS TIME.

For goodness sake, think before you perpetuate these viral hoaxes people, its doing my head in!

Curious Cat used to give me 1 point for most surveys that screened me out, but over the last two days I've been screened out of about 20 surveys, and no points! I do have a very suspicious mind, and I'm starting to think it's because I just cashed out!

The person at the bottom of our property chain who suddenly doesn't have a mortgage in place on day we were all supposed to exchange contacts and has now gone suspiciously silent on the matter.

Boo. I hate buying houses, it's so stressful. It took 2 years to buy my first house with sellers messing us about and so I never want to move again! Fingers crossed yours works itself out. I really do think people should be penalised for doing bad things housing wise - at the moment you can do whatever you like and have no comeback despite you being able to ruin multiple people's lives.

Yeah. We should adopt the Scottish system. Everything is done upfront so the offer becomes binding early on in the process, then everyone knows where they stand.

It’s almost like Estate Agents are criminally incompetent sometimes.

If your job is finding buyers for property, then surely you check they are actually buyers.

However, with the current market and global situation, its possible their mortgage was in principle but their bank has revoked their offer.

Good bloody question. The most worrying thing is the Estate agent for the people at the bottom of the chain who have caused the problems isn't returning anyone's calls and only responds to emails by saying he will update us as soon as he has news.

They are buy to let investors at the bottom of the chain and I rather think they are getting cold feet about the purchase because of the project fear propaganda over brexit and will use their mortgage as an excuse for backing out. Just get the impression they are playing for time at the moment. But I need to know one way or the other because I am in limbo at the moment.
