Mental thunder storms in the Midlands last night. Never seen anything like it it was just constant thunder and lightning for about an hour.
Here to in the north west. No sign of the weather being any cooler today - toddler and heat just do not go together. If only I could take him some where cooler like a swimming pool or soft play area but no as not open in my area.
I hear you. The other night my toddler dropped his favourite toy out of his bed and just burst into tears because he was so tired but couldn't sleep because of the heat. (even with a full on fan). Can't wait for cooler temperatures.

Same here. My council seem to have forgotten all about the roads this year. All the drains are blocked, some of them even have things growing out of them. When it rains hard it's just like a torrent of water flowing down the road. And its started to damage the surface. I sent them an email complaining about it and just got a copy and pasted reply saying they have a scheduled road maintenance program and everything will get fixed in time.
uggh that's the worst!
Ours went in 2018 during beast from the east or whatever it was. Like proper died, was about 10+ years old so we just sucked up the cost and bought a new one as we were spending god knows how much on 'out of warranty repairs' on the thing year in year out!

Yeah that is my worry. Got a man coming tomorrow to see if it can be repaired but it must be getting on for 15 years old so I'm not hopeful. I don't want to make a knee jerk reaction because its so cold at the moment and agree to lots of new parts just to get warm again. I like to take my time, research and shop around. Especially If i have to end up getting a whole new boiler.
I got my boiler through one of those grant things a year ago. The green energy factory I think. Basically because the boiler was really old, also the house was an E rating in energy and I had child benefit claim, I got a brand new Worcester boiler for £700 supplied and fitted. Im not sure if you can still do it and if you can get it but might be worth looking into.
Bring in lockdown again and the fact that it's rained for over a week. It's not easy being stuck in a 2 bedroom flat with 2 young kids!
Also today us my first day off work in a week but I've had messages from 2 colleagues and had to call into work to try and get shifts sorted/swapped/covered. I'm not even a manager and have nothing to do with rotas.
Will probably not make much this month as I've just got no motivation at all. And a new downstairs neighbour who is actually nocturnal.
