do people think it makes a difference if you buy your premium bonds in large chunks or build up the balance monthly?
I kind of think that buying in large chunks gives more wins, but thats just really my anecdotal evidence from family i've known had wins.
I was thinking of building up a balance, but wanted to hold off until I could buy a chunk - maybe i should dive in straight away??

Its random so it shouldn't make any difference.

I'd say get in when you can. There is no benefit in waiting. :)

Only just started buying Premium Bonds in the last few months. The chances of a big win are small I know, but here's hoping...

I bought mine in one lump sum, 50k I'm winning similar amounts to others who have 50k they've bought over time, but it is all random and every £1 gets its own number.

Competition win turned up today! The British Museum mixed-Up Masterpieces book.

Probably going to put this on eBay to be honest (as I'm saving the money I make from selling comp prizes for a holiday!)

Yes logically it should all be random but somehow I’ve got this in my head lol!

I seem to remember reading something a few years ago (when I first bought premium bonds) that said winners tend to have consecutive bond numbers and maybe that's why you're thinking that, but I'm with those that think each bond is an entry into the draw and the more you have the better, consecutive or not.

Nice to have a little boost to the morale sometimes. If you've had a win, or received a freebie, feel free to brag here!

Today I won a small OXO competition. I won some nice herby stock pots, which will be nice for a night when I want to home cook but not make everything from scratch.
Jealous...I'm yet to win anything! maybe I should buy a scratch card first though lol

Hey @Hezzy I'm going to take on board what you've said here and test it out. So I'm going to see if a 5k chunk is as lucky as 5k bought gradually. I'll not have the results til the SUmmer but yeah..!

I’ve had PB since I was a child and have won £50 in all that time
HOw much premium bonds? I often see people saying this and they've got £1, or £100, and don't realise that £50 in that time is pretty lucky as odds go.

A large silver and crystal multi picture frame thingy.
Well done!

Just got some earrings this week I won before Christmas. They are beautiful so I'm keeping them for myself!

Hoping to get time to do some comping tonight. Haven't done any for around 2 weeks.

Couple of hundred. I do realise that a £50 win is lucky. I know of some people who have £10000’s of PB and have never won.

Yeah it's all just luck isn't it. Fortunately I seem relatively lucky financially at least, so I'm hopeful for that big win soon ;)
