God I miss that game. Used to play it LOADS round mates at school!
I had the football and cricket, my mate had the rugby. There was also a Subbuteo Angling (!) game which goes for decent prices if you ever stumble across one.

Hi NRS
Have made some good money selling the older Subbuteo teams, but have not found many lately. Have also sold Subbuteo cricket set

I once worked for a security company that dealt with high-end financial institutions like banks and insurance companies. A manager of a bank was boasting at his regional team meeting about how secure his set-up was. So his bosses had a conference on security that he was invited along to. All the participants had to sign an agreement saying they consented to having their bank account penetration tested. The conference started at 9am with coffee etc. By lunch break at 1pm, my team had (using social engineering and a couple of techie tricks) gained control of his bank account, applied for a mortgage, cloned his card and withdrew £500 from a teller. At his own branch. When the attendees returned from lunch my boss gave a presentation on how easy it was to hack an account using this guy as an example. A morning's work and my boss invoiced the bank for £55k after tax. We were all in the pub for 4pm with a hefty bonus in our pockets. Fun times, but it's made me hyper-vigilant when it comes to my banking.

One of my first jobs back in the sixties was standing outside a department store in a mini skirt selling tights. They were a new product then. I also had a job for a couple of days at the motor show in Birmingham handing out fliers in a short skirt.. Alas I don't have the legs for it anymore.

It came through a market research company, and had to go to Gilette into a lab type centre, and have some beard hairs removed with tweezers. Very odd.

How's this for a bit of fun. Bought a small, dilapidated table for £2.49, removed the (3) legs and sold those for £14.99!

I once had some old brass light fittings from a lamp. I purchased an old book with a nice, pictorial cover. I glued the pages together and drilled a hole to take the lamp holder and fitted it with an in-line switch. I let the whole lot dry and showed pictures of it with an Edison type bulb. It was fairly easy to do and sold for £20. Not a fortune, but easy money

I sell my little girl’s old shoes on eBay. She grows out of them so quickly so they’re usually still in pretty good condition. Not really a strange way of making money, but one that really works for me!!

Very innovative. Of course, pre-loved shoes are big business on ebay. I have been doing ebay for 15 years and buying and selling 'smalls' for 50 years. The 1st item I ever bought was a book from a jumble sale for 3d and I sold it to a workmate for 120d (10 bob!) Nice profit

@Dick Barton That is impressive.

Selling on eBay is not unusual but I have in the past sold corks (from wine bottles) and empty Molton Brown bottles for money on eBay. They went for quite a bit considering what they were.

I sold few carton carrying bags from luxury brands on Ebay. Yes the bags only!

Picked up a second hand but free pram travel system on Friday that I sold for £50 on Saturday only cost me like 50p on petrol was pretty happy with that one, usually try to pick up free item on second hand sites and sell them on, you always see loads of sofas people trying to give away for free wish there was a way to make money off that really

Well, meaning someone who would need that item miss out on it because you think it as a cash cow. Freecycle etc is not for that really though I'm sure many others do the same.
