I once sold a plastic carrier bag on Ebay 'support your local butcher' for £1.49 to a theatre company!
Yes , it's one of those areas where that are both collectable and tends to attract a demographic with a high disposal income. i.e. men of a certain age, who don't have a lot else to spend their money on (and I speak as a 52 year old man). Cricket items can be the same, and I got well rewarded for putting my old Subbuteo items on ebay
I remember seeing a program on bbc2 about if you can make 'money for old rope' and they literally took rope found on the beach and sold it on ebay for like £2.40 profit and were AMAZED!Not too bad today. Sold some old rope for a profit of £18

I used to do car boot sales all the time. Sometimes would make £100, then it dropped to £50 and when it dropped to £20 i stopped as it wasn't worth my time. It all depends if you buy stuff cheap to then sell on. I was just selling stuff from around the house.
I think they have dwindled quite a bit now. Even charity shops don't sell stuff cheap anymore - they have cottoned on to selling it on eBay for more money themselves.
I would agree with that.I still buy and sell from car boot sales and charity shops (plus others). The key to making it pay is to have knowledge that others do not.
I have always stuck to the principle that if you don't pay much, you can't lose much, and if I like it, then someone else may also like it and offer me more money! I have been doing it for quite a few years and there isn't much I purchase that I cannot shift at some time.I would agree with that.
I often wonder about eBay resellers that put up a picture of a dress saying how they paid £5 for this and sold it for £49 but I wonder what other tons of useless crap they've bought but can't sell alongside it!!
Watch out for an up-coming blog post by me!I would agree with that.
