Simple question really but I'm interested in what keeps you using this forum of ours.

Our attachment ratio is (and always has been) very high in that even the same guests / lurkers who don't register will continue to repeat visit for months at a time but what is it you are a registered member stay using The Money Shed?

Is it the community?

Is it the opportunities that appear here first?

Is it the monthly challenge?

Is it the general money given away in the contests?

Is it the friendships that have formed?

Is it feeling that other people are in the same situation you're in?

What keeps you using this forum instead of one of the 1001 Facebook groups that's out there about earning money online?

For me its the community, everyone is friendly unlike other sites i will not mention. ;)
The advice isn't just about scrimping through life, i want to know how to make money as well as save and there is plenty of that on here! I like how it is a website rather than a facebook group too, easier to keep track of posts with its setup.
I can and have asked stupid questions and got the answers without being made to be 'thick'

People don't gang up and bully you for no good reason on here - even if a comment isn't universally agreed with!
If you've got a problem or a question, it is answered/resolved without making you feel stupid for having asked it in the first place.
Everyone is honest, no hidden agendas. Members genuinely want to see other members succeed.
Members don't openly bicker and gripe at each other on the forums, causing bad feeling.
Basically, it is the way all forums should be - for the good of all, and not just to massage the egos of the elite few and to bully lesser mortals who dare to try and join in.

Some of the worst forums that I have been on for the above were actually the very places that you would expect to be all peace and love - Spiritualist forums! And most of the spite was from the mods, believe it or not!

Yes, that's another reason, Mods! I've never been on a group/forum etc where the Mods aren't 'power hungry' or degrading and with their own rules. The 'Mods' here are all friendly and happy to help.

I've been a mod on a fair few sites. I was one of the ones that was happy to help - unfortunately there weren't many of us, so we ended up running ourselves ragged because the members soon got to know which they could go to, and which were a waste of time - and which were just downright nasty!
The good ones literally burned themselves out, which left many a forum floundering and, usually, ultimately closing.
As you say, the mods here are all lovely and do a great job. I take my hat off to them - being a mod really isn't easy or glamorous. They do a lot of work behind the scenes, unseen by the members. The fact that everything appears to run so smoothly on here is a testament to that :)

Lots of knowledge and information here and I like that, plus it has a friendly atmosphere.
People are happy to share ideas and new finds with each other.

I summed it up in another post. Can't remember where or which one. Basically it's we are all here for each other. There is no negativity only helpful friendlyness. The monthly competition is a great idea, and even though I've never won it's lovely to see you giving something back. We have a great community spirit, this place isn't about reusing a tea bag to save ⅛ of a penny but how to actually make money. With all the great tips shared even with a minimal amount of effort £100 is easily obtainable. Which equated to £1.2k a year which pays for Christmas without the worry of where to get the money.

Because I have to be ;) Pretty sure you'd hunt me down and beat me with that Costco bear if I ever left ;)

I'm approaching my 4th year and I don't think I could go elsewhere. Facebook moves too fast and obviously I've met some great people thanks to this place.

It's the friendliest forum I've seen. Full of useful advice and nobody makes me feel like an idiot if I have a question. Plus it's relaxed. You wouldn't get away with half the banter I read on here on certain other sites. I like that a lot!

I just like the upbeat spirit. It makes us feel we can do it. Working from home can be very lonely and it is good to know that there are others out there trying to take sneaky photos in shops or struggling to get geolocation apps to work. I like the fact that there are new posts everyday and that the regulars welcome new members and new ideas.

Thank you for your hard work. I have also increased my income since joining.

Partly for distraction, and partly to try and drive traffic to my blog.

Also, I have found a couple of members have been nice to me ( returned comments, likes, follows etc) so I check the 'what have you posted lately' thread to see if they have posted anything new.

Jon seems like a nice guy and makes me feel welcome here.

Agree with all of the above. I enjoy checking my phone to see what’s going on with people. Really friendly supportive vibe. :):D

Are you talking about being able to share your own affiliate links freely?

Partly this yes. And that we are allowed to advertise our own blogs. I also like that we can make a joke and know that it won't be seen as breaking some obscure rule that nobody knows about, and I don't think I've ever seen anybody react negatively to them on here either. It's just a much more relaxed vibe here than on a lot of forums.

I like it here. I have other places for other things, but I enjoy being here, having the odd chat and the pace.

I'm not sure other places would have the same vibe.

Also, I've enjoyed the attitude of people here, even goldmember!

So far people are really friendly..but ive not been here so long so maybe i`ll answer again if i`m still around in a few months! And I`m just learning a lot from a lot of different perspectives..like different people's experiences. Also it doesn`t seem overwhelming..not huge amount of people and not too much stuff going on but just enough to feel i can keep up with things if i want to. it`s kind of quite specific kinds of topics. I only know/use 2 other money related sites and they are not really about making money like this one..they`re the green site and HUKD. I don`t really know of another site similar to this, and i`ve only just found this one. hmm ..maybe once i find the others i will see things differently ;) jk :)

I've lurked for a while but have taken the plunge and started to post. I hope that I'll be able to give as much as I get from the site.

The community around the site is great, everyone very friendly and looking out for each other.

I'd say that The Money Shed is as close to an authoritative guide to saving and making money as there is out there (obviously there are some exceptional blogs too but in terms of forums, I think this is up there).

Mainly I find it useful and motivating, and to get ideas of things to try, plus people help each other and don't put people down.
